Can you believe how much the national debt increased under GOP rule?
http://www.publicdebt.treas.gov/opd/opdpenny.htm I'm not persuaded that the war needed to cost that much. Either way, cutbacks are needed and the Democrats can now get to deal with making or ignoring them, just as Bill Clinton and a Democrat Congress had to either punt or run with the North American Free Trade Agreement with Mexico at the end of the Cold War. At least we can rejoice that Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney's now out of office and forced to look for a real job in Atlanta:

Yes, but we can answer why ours didn't win...by trying to be moderates. By being too cautious. By not standing up to political correctness. By acting like they weren't a majority Exactly!

Please Direct Your Anger and Efforts Against Liberal Democrats If I can amend your vanity's title, it would be "Please direct your anger and efforts against those who did not vote Republican in yesterday's election. This would include stay at home voters and libiotarians. I think we can rightly be angry at both for costing us the Senate for sure and maybe the House, endangering our military and nation as a result.

It is ironic that they want to raise the minimum wage and then look the other way as employers continue to hire illegal workers who work below minimum wage.

Bet they don't say "America threw a temper tantrum" last night.
If anything at least the media will be more optimistic about the future now that Democrats have Congress. Heck, Clinton won and before he was even sworn in the media did a 180 on their reporting on the economy ("things aren't as bad as we once thought").

Unfortunately, your are correct. One of the things I hate the worst about this debacle is the way we have let our military folks down. All those great young kids-so brave-so dedicated. Now they get to listen to Kerry, with MSM blessings, proselytize about how "stupid" they are!

Your's is the most intelligent vanity I have seen since last night. Conservatives seem to possess an innate nature to attack their own when things go bad. Liberalism is a degradational product of aging governments but must be aggressively opposed.
That the new Deocrats do not move too fast with their socialist agenda in the coming months will be because they want to win the White House in two years. If they do, then look out.
To: D-Chivas
The Republicans stopped being conservatives, and it cost them. This is really what you think?
So, do you think a bunch of very conservative people voted for Democrats just to teach the Republicans a lesson, or do you think there are just that many more Democrats in this country than there are Republicans?
If someone claims to be very conservative but voted for a Democrat, then I hope they get what they have coming to them during the next few years. They deserve every nasty thing the liberals can do to them.
If there are really that many more Democrats than Republicans, then going even more conservative in their policies certainly wasn't going to help the Republicans win anything.

I can't agree. It was the constant barrage of bashing from the left that caused this, lies and more lies. Blame whom you will, but truth is truth.

To borrow a phrase, I can't tell the difference between a Democrat and third party voter these days.

We really taught those dishonest, morally inept, money-spending Republicans a lesson If we had the foresight to teach them a lesson during the primaries, maybe we would still hold both houses today. I didn't take part because I'm non-affiliated. As soon as I can, I'm registering as a Republican. Not just because I always vote a straight Republican ticket, but because I can't do anything from the sidelines before the election without being part of the party. Right now North Carolina is a mess run by the Democrats. Hopefully it will get better in the near future.

Election is over. US has now the liberal leftists in power at the House and possibly the Senate. Woe to the country!
To: Schatze
That is a capital idea! I would too, except, we "foolish" (according to "true" conservatives anyway)Oklahomans worked our asses off and elected conservative Republicans!! Now my poor Reps and Senators get to, futilely fight, tooth and nail, all those lib Dims that "true conservatives" elected!
Just who do I complain to? Is there some special "complaint department" for betrayed conservative Republicans?

Couldn't agree more. felt like the Republicans stabbed us in the back here in TX. Don't think the rest of the country knows just how bad it is. Wages being driven down. Legitimate contractors run out of business because they chose to obey the law. Hospitals closing left and right. Over crowded schools consisting of an underclass that doesn't even read or write in their own language. A poplace awash in drugs and gangs and soaring crime. Mega highways to nowhere except to facilitate the drug trade. A pox on all their houses. Rep. and Dems alike. We're now on our own.

I agree with you, however, I really do have to vent. In most instances, it really is healthy. And I'm not planning a metamorphosis into a lunatic lib. (Although their "script" is a super easy memorize.)
All I can say in my defense (and its a more than adequate excuse): I remember Jimmy Carter. It is truly amazing how fast a healthy economy can go in the shitter. But the thing I remember most about his reign is the utter despondency, fostered by his idiotic "reign". How truly demoralized the public was, listening to an "anti-American" spew from the White House every day.
