Triumphant U.S. congressional Democratic leaders began to flex their new political muscle on Wednesday by urging President George W. Bush to host a bipartisan summit on the Iraq war and find common ground with them on such domestic issues as education and health care.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid said the American people voted for change in Tuesday's elections.

Pelosi reiterated she will not try to force Bush from office. But she and other Democrats promise oversight hearings that could explore such matters as whether he manipulated the facts to build early support for the Iraq war.

More mindless moonbat dead end crap that wastes everyones time for nothing. Flashbacks to Iran/Contra nonsense.
Hell, if they want to go that way, fine, lets slog through justification for the war all over again. We have far more info now then before with all the captured docs.

They aren't sworn in yet, are they? Can he tell them to hold on to their stupid ideas until January?

She's a congresswoman, she should do her damn job. We don't need a kooky grandstanding summit in the middle of a war. If she has an idea, let's hear it or write a bill.

I don't care what this liar says...this is a prelude to impeachment hearings.

Why is a bipartisan summit on the state of the Iraq war a bad idea? At this point this type of thing is worth a shot isn't it? Obviously there have been a few problems with the current approach

Pelosi won't, but her underlings will. Afterall, if something unfortunately should then happen to Cheney before the Congress approves a new VP, she would then be the President.

Ah yes, the good old "summit meeting."

Hey Democrats,

We remember this trick. You used it pretty successfully to get Bush's father to agree to a "budget summit" which of course produced a tax increase in 1990.

We won't be fooled again. The son is not the father.

The Republicans should ask the Dems for a power-sharing arrangement.

I see the Democrats have already started packing a bag with lube for the President to give in to them on everything. Ahh, bipartisanship. You get to blame everything on Bush.

BTW, those FEW people critizing us for supporting Leiberman? Get on your hands and knees now and thank us. Leiberman is the deciding vote in the Senate. That means he'll be able to exercise some restriction on the Dems plans for the WOT. If Lamont had won, our troops would be completely screwed.

See my post #15. This is an old Democrat trick. "Summit meetings" mean "bend over and take it up the you-know-what and sell out your party."

Nancy Pelosi is Speaker of the House. She is not the co-Commander in Chief.
