Extremely dubious leap of logic there. I think we know what you think about Ann Coulter now though. Got your tin-foil hat at the ready?
I think we might be better off being in the minority than being dependent on Chafee in a 50-50 Senate.
Sorry you feel so hopeless. I don't. I trust in God and yes my fellow citizens, because I happen to have been graced with the pleasure of knowing many fine Americans (including many here on FR). I trust in them and God who blesses this country, even when we don't deserve it. Every single day I thank Him for his blessings, even on a day like today.
Giving in to depression and hopelessness is not a solution. Activism is a solution. There is so much to be done, you need to move beyond this and into a positive place.
Well, antceecee, unlike you, I served in Vietnam, and I remember the duly-elected Democrats betraying my service by pulling the plug on Vietnam. And I remember who put those Democrats in charge--and who put today's Democrats in charge to pull the plug on Iraq. And that's the American voter.
"Ann, you helped bring this about--..."
Huh? Cranial-anal transposition problem.
I'm reading Ann's history here and now I'm positive about this. Folks, this was expected. I didn't know all these seats changed hands throughout mid-term history. I just assumed the Rats always won Congressional races.
You and many others served in Vietnam, including my best friends, boyfriends and step-father. You talk like you want to eliminate all American voters!
I think you need to calm down, get some rest and work for a brighter future. What are you planning to do to educate young future voters?
Every single one of us has that opportunity in our lives. Start with our own children. Their friends. The kids we have in our Girl Scout Troops and Boy Scout Troops. The kids we talk to in our neighborhoods.
You can communicate your conservative values and teach others.
I teach (yes and preach) to all my family and friends. I am no more obnoxious than the most liberal people I know, but I do get in my point of view.
That is where we can make a difference.
Quit fighting Vietnam, that's what the Dems keep doing.
Move on and grow.
what in hell are you talking about
Ann Coulter has more balls than any
man in Washington except Hillary Clinton.
This article was the 1st time I've laughed since the polls closed yesterday. I needed it, especially after the Rumsfeld announcement.
I remember you being less than fond of Annie. That's OK. There are some ostensibly on our side that I can't stand. But blaming her for this is silly. Yes, she skewers the GOP, deservedly so at times, as most of us here do. But I will bet you dollars to donuts that her biggest fans on this site bya nd large voted straight pubbie, like they always do.
Based on some posts I've been reading, I don't believe that.
No, my family will refuse to serve in this fickle nation' wars. You need jihadists dealt with? Do it yourself, sweetie, 'cuz we ain't.
I do want to expose the fraud. It might not have made a difference in the overall outcome this time, but it certainly does in individual races. This shit needs to be stomped out and now is the time.
Much better than the sky is falling. We took it on the chin, but dammit if I'm not going to swing harder now!
Good on ya' mate!!!!
My guess is the smart people in their party will keep nancy in a box.
whoops.. forgot the sarcasm tag....
If only Ann had shut up, found a nice man, stayed home and had a bunch of babies, the Republicans might have won.
I have yet to hear anyone put it so well!
LOL! Somebody comes out fightin'--
The rats have despised Bush from the day he "stole" the election from Sore-Loserman. There was nothing anyone could have said or done to change that. Dems have become so vitriolic that one can't even hold a rational political discussion with them any more without them holding a hissy fit.
I'm sure there are exceptions. Just like there are RINOs that won't vote for Christian conservatives.
This treason stuff is too silly...just like the awful "magnificent bastard" stuff the past few days.
Yes, yes, Ann, of course. That's why Nancy Pelosi is going to be the new Speaker and Harry Reid is going to be running the Senate.
That's just inspired analysis, fweetie.
Hey, Behole, is Annie a dirty, dirty Girl?
Yup, someone shoulda kept that girl barefoot and pregnant!!!!
And while I really wish we had Santorum and Allen back in the Senate, Casey and Webb are likely to turn out to be a significant improvement over Wofford and Robb.
And a whole lot of conservative inititives got passed (anti-affirmative action in Mich., a pile of gay marriage ones, English language in AZ)
And as Rush noted today, a lot of voters thought not unfoundedly that the Republicans were the party of "big government"
Anne's fault? Pffft...
At least they made a historic stand against gay pedofiles in congress.
Of all the posts tonight I think yours is the most accurate.
Conservative Republicans lost because they were no longer conservative. They became them and hence more worried about being accepted and invited to the right parties than doing what they were elected to do. So, as a direct result, they were unelected. BTW that is the correct term - unelected -because entirely too many conservative referendums passed and too many dimocrats ran as conservatives for this election to mark a significant change in national direction.
I have news for those living in that artificial world inside the beltway there are no right parties anymore.
The best thing that could happen when we win again, and we will, is to prohibit the elder leaders in both the House and Senate from assuming leadership posts. These men and women learned how to operate as a minority party. When they became the majority party they had no clue how to behave. Look at what they considered important verses what we consider important and how they attempted to run the government.
In my dream world, all leadership posts in both houses would be filled by the newest members - they made the biggest jump (from unwashed civilian to blessed politician) most recently and therefore have the best idea, based on their victories, of what the nation want. No someone who made the jump 12 - 20 years ago.
But, that would create too much upheaval and prevent the smooth functioning of government. Isnt it a great idea?
I laughed too. Finally. I think it helps to get a perspective on the situation. I do believe we have to fight. I will write letters to the editor which I have not done in years. I will engage others with facts. I will pray. I would like to believe that we are not the same country that let Vietnam happen. As parents, we are not the same parents of the 70's, news sources are different. So much more opportunities to be truthfully informed. This article topped off a down day but I am beginning to see the light. Much to give thanks for and to trust God for.
Then there was that plan, floated the week before the election, to spend $50 million to convince adults not to have sex. I think it's possible that the Republicans threw this election, so that they can campaign in '08 as the 'out' party.
You cited a specific instance to support your view, and now you are running away from a simple request to put that specific instance in context.
Additional inflammatory accusations might be effective rhetoric to some audiences, but I like to think that those on FR are not so impressed.
I think not. I doubt one out of 100 Dem voters could tell you who Ann Coulter even is.
Now how did she do that? Certainly not by writing the book Treason, which reminds me by the way, I have this book entitled Behold a Pale Horse.
I'm afraid you wasted that one, Poincare. There aren't many folks left around here who would get the reference.
If you want to properly understand Coulter's role, just revisit the "Iliad" and refresh yourself with the story of how Cassandra desperately tried to warn the Trojans of the impending threat, but was ignored and demonized.
Well, dude, you really have to troll all the post-election threads here to finally figger out and focus on whose fault last night's defeat was! As it turns out, it was Ann Coulter's. Makes sense?
I just heard on the radio here in Phoenix tonight that the Secretary of State's office says Hayworth is wrong. They do not have 100,000 ballots that haven't been counted. They have 230,500 ballots that haven't been counted. Guess they stopped after the 'RATS had enough to win.
So, are they going to count them?
"Ann Coulter willfully aided and abetted the Democrats in regaining Congress.
I dare call it treason."
You are insane. (And clearly a Bircher.)
Why do you stalk Coulter on every thread?
They are thinking about it. Talk about "disenfranchisement."
"And I would ask you for proof of this assertion."
Do a quick search of this clown's past posts re Coulter.
He is obsessed with attacking her. (All the while claiming to have bought all of her books.)
It's gone on for months.
He's probably on the Soros payroll.
i hope you're kidding. where is your evidence? did she suggest voting for Democrats over Republicans. if so, even that is not treason, it's just stupid.
I agree! That is the most moronic reason to lose the house and senate, thereby: leaving conservative justice nominees in committee to languish, reversing as much of the gains made, like tax cuts, real support for the Military, 2nd ammendment support, and most important putting the war on terror in the hands of 'please like us, we'll negotiate and give you money' dems
Let me know if you'd like to be added to the Ann Coulter ping list.
