THANK YOU FOR YOUR
SERVICE SECRETARY RUMSFELD!
While Move America Forward does not back specific candidates or political parties in election campaigns, I can't help but notice the number of emails we've received from people who are deeply saddened by yesterday's election results, as well as today's news concerning Donald Rumsfeld's forced resignation.
Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is a decent and honorable man who has served his country with distinction. In a time of war when others could not even acknowledge the threat America faced, Rumsfeld lead this nation's military with an intense focus and an unflinching commitment to achieve victory.
We at Move America Forward are distressed to see him go. There are so many people who are quick to criticize his actions as Secretary of Defense, but we wonder if anyone else would have - or could have done a better job in fighting an unprecedented threat, and approached the task with such clarity and conviction.
Some of you have said that in light of these recent events that you are now so frustrated and depressed that you are throwing in the towel when it comes to activism to support our troops and the war against terrorism.
I'm writing to all of you today to send this clear message:DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP!
Don't you dare give up on the men and women who are half a world away, risking injury or death to defend this nation from those who wish us harm.
Don't you dare give up on the cause of freedom - for the people of the United States and those who stand allied with us against the threat of Islamofascism.
Don't you dare give up and hand the Islamic radicals the very thing they want: resignation and apathy from the American people.
Elections will come and go, but we cannot allow the outcome to alter our determination to fight for what we believe in - and stand up against those who would target our nation, our values and our liberties. Surrender to the forces of terrorism, fear, bloodshed and violence is not an option.
At the darkest hour of World War II, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill looked into the eyes of his people and saw that many of them were wondering if defeat was at hand. Churchill felt that the only way they would be defeated is if they gave up and allowed the forces of tyranny to prevail.
I am reminded of his famous words to his nation and feel that they fit quite well for what all of us should be thinking today:
We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end... We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender."
Our delegation meets with survivors of
Saddam Hussein's "Anfal" genocide campaign
outside one of Saddam's concentration camps.
As I write this message to you, a delegation from Move America Forward is in northern Iraq. They've met with our troops stationed there. They've met with the people of Iraq who survived Saddam Hussein's genocide campaign.
If you think you can't muster the motivation to press on because of the results of one election cycle, then imagine how these people felt when they were sent to Saddam's concentration camps as part of his "Anfal" genocide campaign.
We've promised our troops in Iraq that we would always have their back and would not give up on them. We presented them with pro-troop banners proclaiming our unwavering support for them. This is no time to start reneging on that promise.
We met with U.S. Troops in Iraq.
We can't abandon them or their mission.
Gold Star Father Joseph Williams with U.S. Troops.
Joseph's son, Michael, died in the war against terrorism,
Yet he still supports the men and women of the United
States Military and their missions!
The United States of America did not start this war with Islamic terrorists. For far too long we tried to ignore the attacks against our nation, our people and our interests. We ignored the "jihad" declared against us by terrorist groups for far too long, but no longer will we look away from the threat facing America.
We will not surrender. We will not cut and run. We will not allow the enemy of freedom & liberty to prevail.
But we need the support of every person we can get to win the war for hearts and minds.
Now, more than ever, Move America Forward needs you to stand with us.
At a time when it might seem easiest to give up, we instead must press on with even greater conviction and motivation.
Will you stand with us?
I look forward to hearing from you!
- Melanie Morgan
Chairman, Move America Forward
Thanks to Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense these Gold Star Families are in a Free Iraq.
You are appreciated more than you'll ever know by those that can see.
Thank you, Sir, for your service.
Thank you for posting this.. BTT, Ping for future refference.. and to never forget.. or give up!
I am SO going to miss Rummy....
He is one of my very favorite people in Washington.
Thank you Rummy!!
I wept this morning when I heard that Secretary Rumsfeld had resigned. What a bitter blow this was on the heels of the election. I called his office to thank him and express how sorry I am to see him go.
However, once I got to reviewing it I realized what a smart move this seems to have been. One of the Dem's favorite targets has been removed! I don't think they will be able to criticize the new secretary with any validity because of his newness to the situation.
Rumsfeld rocked. He just needed someone to constantly push out press releases about the good stuff we were doing to counter the "quagmire" bullshit the pressed pumped at us daily.
God bless Rummy. He will be missed. I hope he has a happy retirement.
WE LOVE YOU!
Last night I was mad, today I was still mad, but knowing we will bounce back. I was very sad when Rumsfeld resigned today, and now I have tears, reading everything in Melanie's email !
GOD BLESS RUMSFELD AND OUR BRAVE TROOPS!
I love him too. But I have to ask. Why did we fight with one hand behind our back? Why did we fight a PC war? Conservatives most of all know an army that isnt moving forward killing the enemy is at risk. How did we forget the first lesson we would scream at Democrats? Didnt you know the left would tear us down?
Thank you for posting this.
Thank you Secretary Rumsfeld.
You were a class act all the way and you will be missed.
Thanks for making the trip Joseph.
Thank you sir, for your great service to our country.
Thanks Rummy.Ya got a bum deal.
Ditto - A Great man
Thank you, Secretary Rumsfeld, for your service to our country.
Thanks for your service and your brave commitment to Marshalling our troops to fight our truly evil enemies.
Americans in general, and those in uniform specifically, have gained much strength from your keen abilities and confident demeanor.
Hopefully you can remain in some key advisory capacity in our critical battle against the agents of terror.

I think Rummy left because he didn't want to suffer the obnoxious questions of the midgets. Rummy is a giant and it makes me sick to realize that a noble man's efforts have been ruined by shallow politicians. I guess Rummy knew he had terrorists in front of him and midgets behind him and he still gave it his best effort.
If he's so great, why is he leaving?
It should have looked like this:
Thanks to Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, and our Brave Troops, these Gold Star Families are in a Free Iraq encouraging our Military.
Thank you Secretary Rumsfeld for all your service and your staunch support of our wonderful military!
Thank you for your many years of service, Mr. Rumsfeld. You are a good and honorable man, and you will be missed! I wish you all the best in your future.
God bless you, Secretary Rumsfeld. We honor and thank you for your service! As the mother of a soldier who served during Operation Iraqi Freedom, I thank you for standing at the helm, braving the storm, and guiding our troops to victory. You will be missed.
Rummy Rocks! But a replacement now is the smart thing to do.
Johnny Carson was doing a bang up job, and he retired also.
God Bless Ya Rummy!!! You are truly a great American!!! One of the hardest working least appreciated men of our time!!!
Add me to the Rummy fan club!
THANK YOU, Mr. Secretary for your selfless devotion to the armed services and the national defense of our country.
God keep you.
I smell a rat!
Never lost a battle and he stood up to the UN/EU in fine fashion.
His efforts haven't been ruined of yet. Not if we all keep the midgets in the fire! Long distance phone service is very cheap...
Rummy is no MacArthur or Patton, but he too will be missed by those who have been in battle and know the costs and don;t believe in cut and run as many in this nation apparently do.
Godspeed Rummy and Thanks!
"Twaddle." Wait till Bush tries to have his next pick confirmed.
Buy a clue, twaddle boy.
(I apologize in advance for that sentence...)
Nancy will be picking the next one, and even Hilliary will approve. No Problem.
We love you, Rummy!
In this new time of war in the Middle East...
...Secretary DONALD RUMSFELD was just trying to prevent a repeat of...
Pictures of a vietnamese Re-Education Camp
JOHN KERRY, TED KENNEDY, WILLIAM CLINTON, HILLARY RODHAM, JANE FONDA, TOM HAYDEN, BARBARA BOXER, JESSE JACKSON and all...
...did all they could during the Vietnam War to bring them about in the first place.
Quote of the day from a Libertarian: "We taught the GOP a lesson."
That was questionable even before.
Now? God knows.
And God help US.
Thanks for posting this....I am glad I am not the only one that is saddened...he was a hero to me! MEN LIKE HIM DON'T COME ALONG EVERYDAY! Bless you RUMMY.....!
He should have been gone a while now.
Moderate Republican & Libertarian "Lesson" voters who voted against Republicans this time around...
gave us a Democrat 'PAYBACK' U.S. Congress out to get a sitting Commander-in-Chief in time of war...
...with our own Freeodm now directly at stake here at home.
Thank you Secretary Rumsfeld for your great service!
You'd win in 2008, forget the ankle biters.
Secretary Rumsfeld, thank you for everything. Thank you for doing your best in the service of our country.
You will be missed and you will be remembered.

Yes, the Democrats were going to use Rummy as a foil to criticize every nitpicking decision.
Bush retort -
Dems, you won; clean slate, Rummy guy you hate is gone.
Put in Gates.
NOW WHAT WILL YOU DO IN IRAQ?
Good move. The mission is more important than the man and this helps keep us with a forward-looking agenda.
