NORMAN, Okla. -- Police detonated a suspicious package at a University of Oklahoma parking facility late Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
Officials said that nobody was hurt when police detonated the package at the Asp Avenue Facility, which is a six-level parking structure located west of Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
There is no word as to what the package contained.

Old powerball lottery tickets.
Oklahoma, home of the Iraqi terrorists who helped destroy the Murrah Building.
Indiana voting machines?
Didh't Moussai or one of the 9/11 hijackers also attend OU?
and the home of the US' first suicide bomber. Fortunately, he only killed himself.
OU812?.......
PING
Hmmmm..
Just had a flash of deja vu.....
bookmark for developments......
Don't know how to search back but perhaps some freeper can figure out how to rehash the connections.
That's right. I forgot about Berg and the Mossoui connection.
probably a longhorn fan...
And yet the entire terror issue hs been ignored by our voters.
The dem voters never cared about security. They only want their increase in the minimum wage and let the country burn. But our republicans.....g-d help them for their shortsighted venality.....if that's a word.
One of the funniest things I have seen in recent years was when a competitor of mine shipped a box to a customer, and it was not marked properly. FedEx just dropped it by the door and left. When no one could figure out what it was, they destroyed it in a bomb truck. It was my competitor's demo unit. LOL!
Funny stories with bombs are rare, but you got one. lol
A voting machine?
Yeah, I laughed for days about that one. I think it was like a $30,000 system, too. Never ship an unmarked box to a military facility... :-)

RAF Croughton, UK, 1980. A purposely unnamed officer noticed a "suspicious package" laying on the floor outside the British Postal Office - aka telephone office, which was housed in our building. EOD was called, and they put on quite a show, including detonating the package in a field a few hundred feet away.
The result was pink, blue and white confetti from the package of billing forms!
LOL!
Seems Moussoui and Berg went to OU at the same time and Berg let Moussoui use his computer to send e-mails.
Another thread about it is here, and a CNN story about the connection is here
This old lady is thankful for just logging on and checking my email and FR.
Is this Groundhog Day?
It is a word but not appropriate.
Probably a Husker fan.
Norman Bomb Squad does a thorough search of the campus area surrounding the stadium and in the stadium prior to a home game and from what I heard this was found in that search. They go over the same area more than once. Any suspicious package is blown up so if someone bought something at the OU Bookstore and forgot it, it is history.
The University has purchased all the buildings and land where the mosque and other related businesses were located to build 'something' which has not been disclosed.
There is more on the original bombing which will probably come out someday, but it has made me back off on my original thoughts about Pres Boren and why he came out like he did.

Hello, PhiKapMom
How wonderful to see you again..
As an alumnus (veteran? survivor?) of the original OU (Norman) bombing thread, I remember your invaluable reporting and input.
I'd certainly like to hear how your thinking has changed over the year since those events.
Regards
Uncle Ike

You mean the "mosque" as that property on Lindsay at George, like going towards the Duck Pond, but on the south side?
Is the mosque gone? If not, *will* it be?
OU bought up everything including the mosque and O'Connell's along with all those little stores so that they own everything from the campus apartments which are being torn down to the campus. Fire station is being move over to I think it is Constitution and Norman is giving the land to OU in exchange for helping build a new fire station with the land.
O'Connell's is looking to move into Al's and Al's is looking to move to the city is the rumor.
Wow. Saw this headline and thought it was perhaps an inaccurate follow up article from last year. Definitely interesting.
I was hoping many from the original threads would be names I saw once I began reading the thread.
But now I'm REALLY interested after your comment (changing thoughts about the response last year). If you post more about that, please ping me!
You have freep mail.
Thanks, hope to be there sometime in the future to see all that.
You can freepmail me on the same subj, please!
