It's only a matter of time until Pelosi and Conyers join this mob of poop-hurling monkeys.

Impeachment should only be used when an elected official is caught cheating his/her way into office. Otherwise it's disrespecting the will of the people

I don't think that Pelosi and Conyers are that stupid. Impeachment proceedings are ridiculous. There probably are going to be all kinds of investigations, though, to appease the moonbat wing.

Yep, that's what the Democrats said back during the Clinton impeachment, isn't it? They also said that the "high crimes and misdemeanors" provision meant clear evidence of treason, or some unspecified other offense on a similar plane (guess their view had "evolved" since they tried to remove Nixon for allegedly trying to "cover up" a "second-rate" political burglary he may not have known about). Because of the Pelosi comment ("impeachment off the table"), the Demos won't move to impeachment right away, but they will go on a fishing expedition, and anything that smells remotely "impeachable" (by newly redefined, and "re-evolved" standards) will be referred for action. Anything deemed "non-impeachable", but potentially embarrassing, will simply be released to the MSM (regardless of security classification).

Even Conyers right now knows that impeachment hearings would be ,at best, dangerous. As for Sheehanet al,let them rant. Makes them look that much more looney.Oh BTW,for those of you out there that do support impeachment ,can you give me a Concrete reason fore doing so,without resorting to the leftist ant-Bush montras????Maybe not ,because that requires true thought and not mere repetition. But I will let you try.As Scooby-doo would say"rots of ruck!!"

Cindy just LOVES John Conyers. And he loves her too! He invited her to present her rant to other Congressmen at his hearings into the "Downing Street Memo". He wrote the foreword for her book (check out the cover photo with little Martin Sheen). He was with her at the dais during the "People's State of The Union" farce, just hours before she tried to disrupt the actual "State of The Union" address by President Bush. He has posted lots of pictures of Cindy on his website.

Seriously, and this is all hypothetical, who succeeds the Veep if the Veep assumes the Presidency? Certainly not Nasty Pelosi?

Good point. Corgressional Dems also know that one of their other inferred campaign promises to dismantle our natinal intelligence may hit a road block. If another terrorist attack happens, then thier name would be on the bill if they interfered more. 2008 would show Dem losses everywhere and they can't afford that.

In a way I hope the Democrats are stupid enough to have hearings about every single thing. Let's not start with Iraq. Let them start with hearings about the 2000 elections! I for one am nostalgic for the halcyon days of hanging chad. Maybe the moonbattiest of them can hold a hearing on why 9/11 was a hoax or a Zionist conspiracy or a space alien attack. They can have hearings about Abu Gharib, and what Bush and Rumsfeld "should have known." You know, Rumsfeld should have been over there 24/7 personally supervising that the prisoners were comfy. Moving forward, maybe Web can investigate the naughty things that Foley said and use them in a new book.

While the Democrats preside over such a circus, terrorists will be finalizing their plans for attacks that will make 9/11 look like a childish prank. But let's face it, a terrorist attack was eventually going to happen under the Republicans and it is likely to be a much sooner reality under the Democrats. So in the meantime I would rather the government be caught up in nonsense than in real dangerous stuff like giving illegal aliens citizenship, taking guns away from law-abiding citizens, denying funds to our military and so on. Maybe after the political and radioactive fallout settles Americans can send adults to Washington, assuming Washington still exists.

Yes, the attention of a plastic surgeon. If we're going to be forced to endure looking at this butt ugly pig for the next two years couldn't we at least start a Cindy She-ham "Facial Reconstruction Fund"?

From the look on Jesse's face, I'd bet he'd even donate.

This will bog down the Democrats.

Even if it got through the House, the President and Vice President would never be convicted by a 2/3 vote in the Senate.

The Democrats in the House are not going to waste time on this.

Just impeaching him will be payback for the Republicans' impeachment of Clinton. Do Republicans want to run with the impeachment albatross around their necks in 2008? From the Democrats' point of view, its not a legal exercise; its a political one. And when the time is right they will move to get the President and Republicans will be powerless to stop them.

I can see them doing it out of spite, but at this point they have to think of the Representives from the conservative districts that recently got elected.

Clinton was actually involved in a criminal act, perjury.

There is nothing like that they can hang on Bush.

Moreover, if they went after both Bush and Chaney, it would be seen as an attempted coup.

You think their moonbat base really cares about the niceties of legal procedure or whether Bush committed a crime? In their eyes, his being a Republican already makes him guilty. All they have to do gangster style, is come up with suitable evidence to frame him. Whether its a solid legal case doesn't matter. If they can sell it to the American people, they're already where they want to be. Oh yeah, I heard Conyers' assurances. Every one on here knows the true worth of a Democratic promise. Nothing. So be ready for the inevitable.

When our cities start going up in mushrooms and the terrorist cells come alive and start spreading deadly anthrax and whatever all over our country, do you REALLY think our government is going to drop everything and spend their time on an impeachment trial?

Why not? It's the perfect opening for them to credibly blame Bush for the disaster, for failing to keep us safe. And they could simultaneously create new programs to help the victims. I see that kind of attack as the perfect opening for the 'Rats to impeach Bush and Cheney simultaneously.

Then Speaker Pelosi assumes the Presidency and suspends all elections until the country recovers from the attack. For our own good, of course.

The Drive Bys/MSM will treat Democratic impeachment hearings very differently from the way they treated the GOP impeachment hearings. By the time they're done with the coverage, the American people will be demanding Bush and Cheney's heads on a platter. You don't know these people. They play for keeps.

This is about the reality of having power.

Having come back into power after 12 years, the Democrat leadership is not going to throw it away with a meaningless witch hunt.

They will make noises to that effect to keep their base happy, but by 07, the concern will shift to nominating a candidate for President

Moreover, they have to more concerned about pleasing their base by getting us out of Iraq, which I do not think they will be able to do, and that will really frustrate their base.

It's only a matter of time until Pelosi and Conyers join this mob of poop-hurling monkeys.

Media bias won the dems this election. People like Bush personally, so the media would have a hard time trying to sway public opinion enough to pull it off.
The dems are in power based on a media illusion the way it is, and I don't think they'd want to pop that bubble because of a handful of kooks. It's all they have.
They don't have the votes to pull it off, either, so it would just become another propaganda war that they could lose.
