Two days after losing a bid for a second term, Sen. Lincoln Chafee said he was unsure whether he would remain a Republican.

Chafee lost to Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse in a race seen as a referendum on President Bush and the GOP. On Thursday, he was asked whether he would stick with the Republican Party or become an independent or Democrat.

The weak sisters from Maine aren't even in the same low class as Chaffee. For all their dithering, they never stabbed anyone in the back. They were with us on the judicial nominations.

What a slut. So willing to sell to anyone that will pay. We didn't need his kind anyway.

Good riddance to rotten rubbish. I don't know how you all feel, but I was angry when the GOP did not back the "other" Republican in the RI primary. Don't you wonder if he would have won????

he stayed with the GOP largely because it helped him bring federal dollars home to Rhode Island.

And this (earmarks) is largely what sunk the GOP this term. Immediately after the 2004 election, they drew the shades, lit the cigars, and started spending like maniacs. They paid the price on November 7th.

Actually, he is a senator until December 31st. Of course, he can switch to Democrat for the remainder of his term if he wants too, but this would not affect his voting record.

"...adding that he stayed with the GOP largely because it helped him bring federal dollars home to Rhode Island."

So, all along, Lincoln was Cha"feeding" off the GOP nipple. But in the end--- the Republican leaders were the real suckers.

It's amazing how people think that having a party with no ideological debates is going to be a stronger one. It's going to be a smaller one, and incapable of winning elections. These RINOs aren't. They're just from a different branch of the party from you. They are votes in caucuses that you need to manage the Senate and House.

I just want some smart people who are conservative, and know what the American public wants.

I don't know his father. But if he behaved in a like manner you can bet that the answer is yes.

His father was not a conservative, but he wasn't a whore like the son. He was a team player and a genuine, honest, decent man.

He also was one of the first Senators to endorse GWB when he first was looking into running. It's a shame he died before he was able to see him win.

"IF" he was still a senator, would we all be bashing his lame RI backside?

50-50 split and cheney being the deciding vote?

Let this 'tard go be Dhimmirat, maybe he would sleep better at night knowing that he was finally "home".
