Intelligence agencies have been warned that al Qaeda may be planning to attack air and rail travel in Europe in actions that may occur during the busy holiday travel season, CBS News has learned exclusively.In separate interviews with Arab and other intelligence sources, CBS News has been told that the warnings come from interrogations of al Qaeda suspects who recently left Afghanistan and Pakistan.
"One suspect said plans for repeating the Heathrow attempt (a reference to the failed 'liquid bomb' plot interrupted in August) were all prepared. It is now a matter of taking action," said one Arab official who asked not to be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media. "Al Qaeda's strategy appears to be raising the pressure in Europe."
In a move that has been puzzling intelligence agencies, al Qaeda has been withdrawing well-trained Arab fighters from the mountains and battlefields of Afghanistan.

I saw it. It WAS Mort. I think he surprised everyone on the panel, including Krauthammer, with that remark because it was blunt and truthful.
I'd bet it was Fred. But he's wrong. If it happens again, George Bush will be blamed, for having had the NERVE to fight back. Maybe the new majority will designate "A City For Sacrifice", to attone for us having the stones to fight tne moslems. She could make it a truly democrat process by having we, her lowly flock, vote for which city we'd like to see leveled.

I suspect they are taking their best fighters away from the wasteful battles in Afghanistan and Iraq and preparing them for where the next phase of the GWOT will be:

We can all thank the Democrats for defeating the West in Iraq. Even if the US troops do not withdraw immediately, the factions in Iraq are likely so scared the US will leave they are going to prepare for their own survival.
The irony, I believe, is the loss of the stabilizing presence of the US forces to prevent wholesale sectarian war and/or full blown Iranian invasion of Iraq will likely lead to even greater middle-eastern conflict.
In resulting chaos, the next logical target is right here in the US. The "cut n' run" crowd will have blood on their hands.

Your are right! Every holiday, special sports/musical/Hollywood event we get these predictions. They will hit us when we least expect it (IMHO) and as part of their own timing. Might happen on a special day or just any ol’ day of the week. The only thing we can bet on … it will happen.

Seriously though, I doubt another major attack would do anything to wake up half of our population into believing that we are in a real war.
The most disturbing thing about Pelosi and crew is that so far none of them has stepped up to the mic to say, "Make no mistake. We will not be weak on terror." They know that this is a time of concern and that the islamofascists are looking for any sign of weakness, yet they did nothing to assure the world that a change in leadership of the Congress would not weaken this country.
I am more convinced than ever that the core of the liberals believes this country was conceived in sin and must pay the price. I am convinced that they almost welcome an attack on us as some kind of hideous penance for the wrongs they believe the US has committed over the years. I am convinced that they want us to suffer, from high prices, from being overrun, and from being attacked.
I am convinced they will get their wish.

They will just blame Bush instead of the terrorists (same as it was society's fault for the Rodney King Riots). There isn't any hope that those who don't already see it will see it until it's much too late.
Every holiday, every major public event, every islamic holiday -- we get these announcemetns. I DO think another attack is coming -- make no mistake, half of our darn population is wilfully burying its head in the sand WRT the threat we face -- but the constant announcement that THIS holiday is going to be the big one is ridiculous. It's one of the reasons (again, IMHO) that people are no longer taking the threat of terrorism seriously. How many times can they cry wolf?
Hey, I live in Muslim Bay Ridge, and I'll gladly take my chances. DemLibs outnumber me 5 to 1, so should I survive the next attack, I'll be that many times less inclined to grieve for those who voted for "change."

Are you kidding? What's even more likely since Tuesday is that an attack would get a nice fat donation from Congress to the Ka'aba maintenance fund and a place for CAIR on a House committee. The new leadership will watch this country take repeated punches and do nothing. I challenge them to convince me otherwise.
For the US to leave Iraq and Afghanistan. This threat is just a reminder to the dims to do what they were elected to do. I guess Pelosi Galore isn't moving fast enough for them.
