However, he also realizes the DNC didn't support him in the primary as they should have and he's mad as hell at all of 'em. And he should be!!! He's now an independent and can pretty much do what he wants to...LOL
He will use this threat to get what he wants and they will give it to him. There will be no switch.

Yes, they will DO ANYTHING to keep power. You can bet your life on it.
Ra.
Join, Joe...Feel the power of the Dark Side...
I don't know if he will switch to the Repubs, but when I saw Michael Medved speak in August here in Denver, he said a little bird (Lanny Davis) told him that Joe Lieberman was really ticked off at his "friends" in the Senate that backstabbed him. Medved put it "he is hurt and angry".
Bingo! We have a winner!
I guess I'd like to see him get Armed Services. Probably pretty unlikely.
He's now the swing vote in the Senate. Far from hurting him, the moonbats made him far stronger - and a blocking vote against Dem appeasement.
i think we just need to let this go and see how it plays out. much to soon to see anything, and if its even that huge a deal. but hey, itd a great laugh!
On the most important issue of the day -- the War on Terror -- Lieberman understands what we're facing. Even if he never switches, keeping the door open will put enormous pressure on the Dhimmis to be reasonable.
You know, if a miracle were to occur and Lieberman did switch, I would bet everything that the weak-spined Republicans would offer to share power just as they did before.
From which party? He'll receive offers from both parties and go with whichever one suits him best.
He should remember that Chafee received much better treatment from the GOP than he received from the dems.
I don't see it happening. We won't get control of the Senate as far as Committee chairs, etc. The best thing we can expect is his support for continuing funding of the war, IMO.
1) Under no reasonable circumstance will wee see Joe Lieberman join the Republican party
2) However, caucusing with the Republicans in the Senate for organizational purposes isn't completely out of the question. With Lieberman joining the Republicans for organizational votes, it's a 50-50 Senate, with Cheney breaking ties (and no Chaffee to worry about in terms of ship-jumping).
Honestly, it looks like Joe is shopping for the best offer... this type of equivocation is designed to elicit better offers from the 'rats and to let the GOP know that he's still "for sale".
WE NEED a 50/50 split Senate with Cheney being the tie breaking vote!
LLS
He backs Bush on the war, other than that, he is a slime Liberal. I don't want him in our party. (except, to make the Democrats pissed)
