I've been a Fox News viewer from the very beginning, long before Fox & Friends was created. I remember when E.D. first appeared, filling in for Alison Costarini during the morning news. I've watched Steve, E.D., Brian faithfully all these years, and found them a wonderful break from the MSM's morning spew.
I will admit, I miss E.D., but I was willing to given Gretchen the benefit of the doubt at taking her place. Her performance has been lackluster and this morning she just sank the show for me.
How?
Gretchen Carlson went out of her way to correct Steve and Brian that the term "pro abortion" was actually "pro choice."
Nothing like spinning the ugly truth, is there, Gretchen?
I'm done with Fox and Friends. A show I trusted and enjoyed with my AM coffee isn't what it used to be -- TRUSTWORTHY.
I've been a FReeper since 1997 and have never posted a vanity, so I hope my fellow FReepers will understand. I think other Fox viewers should know what's happened to this staple of morning news, one we're finding we can depend on less and less.
PC speak will be the death of this country. Thanks CLINTON!
Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other.
As long as we are piling on vanity, I just came back from the gym where CNN and Fox were on side by side. As I listened to Fox I noticed that about every two minutes there was a picture of Hillary on CNN. It seemed to be different stories each time, health care, taxes, you name it but it was always Hillary all the time...
Isn't pro-life also pro-choice?
What is the difference between the two?
just like when Saddam was sentenced to hang, CNN treated it as if he got a traffic ticket.
One is truth, the other is spin.
The context left no room for argument.
That, actually, is an agreement (widely held and respected) between both the supporters of abortion as well as its opponents--as well as the media--regarding how each side will refer to the other.
What's the deal with the women of that show? Are they forced to wear high skirts all the time? If I want to see chicken legs, I'll visit my local KFC. Try some slacks for once!
I understand.
I think you erred in expecting quality.
Leni
The difference is, for the baby, pro-arbortion means NO choice.
Control the meaning of words, control the argument.
Gretchen Carlson is no better and I don't miss ED.
I think Gretchen is rather plain looking. I have more hots for Julie Banderas, Reena Ninan, and Molly Line.
Pro-choice implies the baby gets a choice.
Fox needs competition.
All the other media are so far left, they're the only balanced game in town.
As such, sometimes they don't try very hard. CNN regularly scoops them on breaking news, and their evening lineup is utterly devoid of any news at all.
I wish ABC would get serious about things, and take them on for the balanced market. They really need to be challenged a bit more.
With no skirts, they would have no audience.
They have left wing TV on 6 stations, we have one "fair and balanced" station. When will we get a conservative station - is this asking too much?
I like pro choice.
As long as it relates to everyone.
Especially the baby in the womb.
Let he or she make the decision.
May have to wait until the age of reason, but what the heck.
Let the abortionists try to kill 6 or 7 year olds, there may be outrage. At least from moral people.
Good post, Leni!
Yep, E.D. Hill was a bright light on that show. Why did Fox fire/demote her ? Too conservative ?
You have a point.
I watch it once in a while and someone told me that there are a couple of guys on each side of the woman in the middle. Funny what you don't notice.
Thanks for posting your vanity . We don't have TV, so posts like this keep me informed. Pro-choice sure has little meaning for the infant. What ever happened to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Brit is about the only reason left to watch Fox.
Page Hopkins would be a better choice.
It is TV...don't get wrapped emotionally one way or another
They're pro-CHOICE?
Oh ok, so they support a woman being able to choose which school her child attends and have her tax dollars directed as tuition! Excellent, I support that sort of choice as well and...oh, they don't support THAT choice.
Uh ok, maybe they support a woman being able to choose to conceal carry a handgun for protection and...oh, not THAT choice either. Hmmm.
Perhaps they support allowing a woman to choose to personally manage her Social Security retirement funds and...not THAT choice either?
So what choices do they support?
Oh, abortion is all, huh?
Pro-choice my eye!
Get ready for two years of 'All Hillary-all the time' from CNN
"How sweet is cable news!"--think some:
Others--"How blest the new media so brave!"
Ah, log on to FR and waive the rest;
Oh, the mindless noise of a blonde news babe!
Was she demoted? I see her all over Fox it seems.
Being a Fox has it's advantages.
Gretchen has sucked the energy out of the show ... I've stopped watching as well.
"It is TV"
TV is a major reason why the dems were able to win the election, don't underestimate it.
You have GOT to be kidding me.
Gretchen's pointed remark is indicative of what can be expected from her. She's still fairly new to F&F but not Fox News. It was HER decision to "correct" Brian and Steve. It sounded rude and it would have better if she'd just let it slide.I watch a channel for ten years and I'm easily swayed? ROFL :snort:
Out of habit, I put F 'n' F on. The minute Steve Doocy starts plugging his meaningless book, or they show some celebrity "news," or they go outside for a Pakistani cooking show, I go to the History Channel.
Why not "pro-death"? That seems more accurate.
I would think so
NARAL, Planned Parenhood, et al, always change the word & the game when it suits their purpose.
They have obfuscation to an art form.
FWIW, I tuned them out a while back...(even though I watched them almost daily for years)
I'd watch it.
I'd love a channel that featured "The Michelle Malkin Show," "The CNS News Hour" and, just for fun, "Throwing Little Green Footballs."
Pro choice makes it sound so pretty. Both sides are pro choice. The difference is when the choice is made.
Right you are!
A pot of coffee for me, and FR completes the picture! TV news? Whazzzat?
(Hope all's well with you, Leni!)
I only watch the weekend Fox & Friends. Gretchen is entitled to her opinion. Tell me - did Steve and Brian correct her? If not, then they are part of the problem. Someone should have come out and said it is neither pro-abortion or pro-choice, it is pro-death!
You know, I had a little argument with my husband this a.m. so I was feeling pretty glum, but your post put a smile on my face! It's quite cheerful. :) Thanks from a stranger! :)
I didn't ask but I assumed it had something to do with family concerns that she probably didn't want to start work early because of child-children.
I suspect, like me, you're opposed to media bias. Well that cuts both ways. If the journalist is going to refer to people favoring the option to choose abortion as "pro-abortion", then they would have to refer to those opposed to giving women the option to choose abortion as "anti-abortion". Likewise, if they are going to refer to one side as "pro-life", than they should refer to the other side as "pro-choice".
This doesn't mean Gretchen is pushing a pro-abortion position; just that she's trying to help her fellow newscasters avoid the appearance of bias. I think given Fox's "Fair and Balanced" tagline, this is an important thing for her to do.
If you cannot even hear two words without freaking out,,well, good luck in life.
