The article claims this particular website has generated only one transaction in four years.
Is this much ado about nothing or a boycott I ought to consider joining?

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)

Much ado about nothing. That group just signed up to be a member of Wal-Mart's affiliate program like many other websites have. Big deal.

I could get 5% by putting a link on my website.
Anyone can.

I think this is much ado about nothing. I'll avoid Wal-Mart after Thanksgiving because I don't wish to catch some airborne illness or get trampled by the huge crowd. Anyone that goes shopping after Thanksgiving is a lunatic.

What they leave out is that this is a long list of pro-gay moves on the part of Wal-Mart. The one in the growing list that bugged me the most was this,
Wal-Mart joins 'gay' chamber of commerce There a lots of things. They can play down the lastest move all they want. It is the big picture that is disturbing.

Wal Mart supports the Boy Scouts one hell of a lot more than any gay group. Our local troops have benefitted by Wal Marts donations of cash, material, and time. By all means shop Wal Mart.
Oh, and BTW, they are only boycotting Wal Mart on Fri and Sat after Thanksgiving. I wouldn't get near a Wal Mart during those 2 days, it will be a zoo with the Christmas sales starting.

The article claims this particular website has generated only one transaction in four years. It may be true that the site has not generated much, but it is the thought that counts. If Wal-Mart actively supports the Gay Lobby in any way, they are worthy of a boycott, and Christians should seriously reconsider shopping where abominations are supported.
I know Wal-Mart is "Bringing Back Christmas" this year, but that is a financial ploy just as trolling for gays is.
I have not been inside a Wal-Mart for over two years, can't say I've missed shopping there. Their prices are getting as high as a high-end department store anyway. Wal-Mart has strayed from its beginning.

They can play down the lastest move all they want They should. They have done nothing in this case.
Some gay group put a Walmart link on their website. Big deal.

Wal Mart DID say that their cashiers would be allowed to say MERRY CHRISTMAS
To: The Ghost of FReepers Past
Yep, and Ford, GM, and Chrysler also are corporate sponsors of the Gay Chamber of Commerce.

If you haven't been in a WalMart in over two years, how do you know about their prices?
I was in WalMart over the weekend. If anything, their prices are going down.
To: Racehorse
Wal Mart has the decency to mention Christmas and now Wildmon wants to condemn them for allowing gays to do business.

I have never owed any of those cars.
Look, "97% of all companies are guilty" doesn't work on me. I used to shop Wal-Mart because they were different. They are no longer different. Any company that wants to swim against the sleazy current will get my business. For the most part, I'm shopping a whole lot less. That's a good thing.

They reintroduced Christmas this year. We should be happy.

If you haven't been in a WalMart in over two years, how do you know about their prices? Their prices from two years ago were too high for the quality of merchandise offered. It is the original reason I quit shopping there.
A woman where I work shops at Wal-Mart, has brought in children's clothing, toys etc., to wrap them or give a gift to other coworkers. The items are never worth what has been paid. Of course, that's just my opinion.
The Anti-Christmas thing, and now the gay thing, leads me to believe I have made the right choice for myself. If I'm asked about Wal-Mart, I give my viewpoint. I don't expect anyone not in agreement to follow it.
