It's Pelosi's fault.
After all, she has always supported the NEA!

I'm so sorry. I don't know how you do it. You must be a special person and I mean that with all sincerity. It's scary when I see a lot of young people. It's as if they are out of some science fiction/horror movie.

When Socialists run the schools they will employ any means to ensure that they'll end up running government.

How much learning gets done since they are not focused on getting an education? Most days it feels like I am accomplishing nothing other than keeping them off the streets for a few hours. Every so often, however, I wring a paper out of them that makes me think "Okay, we're breaking it into paragraphs now. That's an improvement."
Of course, there are always 2 or 3 really alert, attentive kids that focus on me like there isn't chaos all around them, and they improve in leaps and bounds. But that's the few. Most of them, by the end of the semester if I've trained them to push in their chairs before they leave, it keeps me going for another year.

LAUSD administrators are the real problem behind the entire school system. They are the waste of money, this misappropriation of power, the bad judgment, the atmosphere of low expectations, and the tenure of incompetent teachers. NO ONE CARES and NOTHING will be done about this. The Teachers' Union protects the administrators. The problem with the LAUSD administrators has been festering since the late 70's/early 80's, and has spawned into something unrecognizable since. The relationship between the Teacher's Union, and the administrators is nothing short of incestuous.

Always wondered, how can you teach a child not to hit someone by hitting them?
I believe it's called negative reinforcement.
If I were a bully and knew that every time I hit someone
I'd get my ass severely kicked,
I think I'd modify my behavior.

I have been saying that for years. If you do not have a stake, you should not be able to vote.Hmm...No representation without taxation.
Has a familiar ring to it.

Always wondered, how can you teach a child not to hit someone by hitting them? It's a matter of authority. My son is not allowed to spank his brother, but I have the prorogative to spank either or both of them because I have proper authority.
Just like you're not allowed to arrest your neighbor and lock him in your basement, while the cops can do that to either of you...it's a matter of authority or, if you like, authorization.
The cops represent the enforcement arm of the state; I represent the enforcement arm of the family. Understanding this order makes all the difference.

So she basically cancelled out your vote . . . it is maddening.

Sadly, you are so correct.

"...(I) Always wondered, how can you teach a child not to hit someone by hitting them?..." Excellent point. It is not the physical pain but rather the public humiliation that is a strong motivator to adopt and maintain social norms. By making an example out of the young ruffian, both he and the onlooking crowd have the norms of society reinforced on him.
The term I learned in school was "socialization to civility".
