Sen. John McCain will formally open his 2008 presidential exploratory committee by tomorrow a.m., an adviser said today.
The committee already a website and it will stream live the two speeches McCain delivers tomorrow before conservatives in Washington.
First, he addresses the Federalist Society. Later, he speaks to GOPAC.
"already has a..."
sorry.
Is he a Republican or a Democrat this week?
We can save McCain the time and money and just say NO to his bid for the Presidency or anything else for that matter.

Go away, McPain. We don't want you.
This effort needs to be stillborn.
We need to spread the message that McCain's run is all about justifying a third party to split the Republican vote and get Hillary elected. /tinfoil

Aaaaargh! I'm running for President!
McCain will have a public meltdown shortly after the New Hampshire primary, if not sooner!
He's enough of a megalomaniac to do so!

We may have to consider McCain. As an ex-liberal I've never understood the fear of Hillary. But Obama is a real threat. People still think that poverty is caused by racism, not the breakdown of the family, and voting for Obama will be a way to make them feel good about themselves. See also: Shelby Steele's book 'White Guilt.'
If McCain runs he will win. If McCain wins it will *probably* be the end of both Roe v. Wade and the abuse of the interstate commerce clause.
To my mind, it comes down to the quality of McCain's nominees versus another candidates lower chance of winning. Forget about the history.
Explore this RINO !!!
Seriously, I'm looking forward to reading his address at the Federalist Society. There's no telling what he'll spout off to them.
Explore this RINO !!!
I am a broken glass republican in that I will walk over broken glass to vote for anyone but McCain in the primaries. Lets face it, our choices in 2008 will be McCain or Gulianni. I will vote for Gulianni in this case. And Gulianni while a social liberal he is still way better than Hillery
What kind of "exploratory committee"?
A group fo proctologists to locate his brains?
That didn't help Steele in MD, Swann in PA, or the other man in Ohio. Deval Patrick did get elected though (MA is a case all its own).
I've been a drone for the Republican Party for about 10 years. This year I put in a large number of hours trying to get a RINO elected to the US House. He lost in a landslide...to a Farrakhan devotee, no less.
I won't work on behalf of RINOs ever again. It's a waste of time. I'd even be disappointed to accidentally succeed.
McCain is a HUGE part of the problem and NO part of the solution. If he gets the nod he will lose me, and I'd bet the farm he will lose my state as well. There is a large contingent of conservatives in my state, and they will simply stay home rather than support another RINO, especially one running for President.
His site doesn't have any place for "feedback".
Interesting. I love to give him some.
Maybe if I agree to doante $.02 he'll get the point.
He'd have better luck exploring for Atlantis.
Not to mention he spent most of the summer worrying over the rights of detainees at Gitmo and others captured on the battlefield. The man is dangerous to conservatism, the GOP, and the nation.
Obama won't get the nomination.
For the same reason Jesse Jackson and Doug Wilder never did- bigoted Democrat voters.
He's just for show, like they were.
Are you saying McCain has little support in Freepland?
Minnesota, proudly the first state to elect a muslim congressman. Keith X Ellison! God Save the Republic!
Hey voters, send cash to Rudy.
I will not vote for a bigger government, socialist agenda, liberal... Regardless of party affiliation.
McCain will switch party names if he doesn't get the bid.
It will party name only, Hillery will attest to that. He will be her running mate possible.
...I am predicting some of the newly elected Democrats to change parties within a year. This is about the amount of time the Democrats will crew things up so bad for themselves.
Seriuosly, McCain is the candidate of MSM newsrooms. If he were to come up against Hillary though they would turn on him in a minute and destroy him! I wouldn't even call him a RINO - his party is the John McCain Party - he is by no means a consrvative. Yet the MSM touts him that way. Of course they wouldn't know a conservative if one bit them on arse. To the MSM, a conservative is Pat Buchanan - anti-semitic isolationist who does happen to be right about controlling illegal immigration - or Andrew Sullivan - rumpranger who went along with the war initially but who now filters all his views through his homosexuality and who is pissed he can't marry his boyfriend.
I detest this guy... with friends like this who needs enemies :)
Now let me see, which one of the three will I vote for?
Wonder whether we'll need a "McClone Alert" ping list?

Now that's funny.
And tomorrow I s'pose you'll spring it upon me that Rudolph the Red New Yorker will have one, too?
And Missus Bruno Cli'ton too, why not, while you're in a joking FRame of mind!!??
One other thing, if McCain (D) Ariz were to get the GOP nod, his allies in the old media will turn on him overnight. And, they have much they can use against him in their pre-election jihad against things Republican.
For starters, (and correct me if my history is wrong) I think that McCain left his wife after she became crippled with a neuromuscular disease, and married a wealthy heiress.
McCain (D) Arizona has also alienated what would have been his base (us).
McCain's nomination would lead to my Hillary Nightmare Scenario.
Given a choice between Hillary Rodham and McCain, I would vote for McCain in a heartbeat, but there are those who think that indignantly withholding votes because politics isn't perfect somehow sends a useful message. And they would see to it that McCain (D) Arizona would have no chance at winning.
.

NO RINOs....be they from Arizona or NYC.

But those are not fair.
You counted only Republicans!
< / joking FRame of mind >
Which means he is entirely "too conservative" for some of the RINO's here on FR to get behind.
Tancredo/Hunter > Newt Gingrich > Sam Brownback > Mitt Romney > Bill Frist > John McCain > George Pataki > Chuck Hagel > Rudy Giuliani.
One thing he will have an uphill battle with is, name recognition. Everyone in America (including the sheeple) know who Hillary, Rudy and McLame are. Bet you couldn't find 3 people outside of this site who know anything about him...
He better start getting himself out there and use a big megaphone...
That list in just my personal opinion and includes only republican candidates whom I think will run. It does not include people rumored to be thinking of a possible run (Mike Rounds) or people who have been mentioned but said they are not running (Condi Rice and Dick Cheney.)
