No. 1: Ignorant people all around the world believe in a bunch of bunk. In our own country millions believe in Astrology, one of the biggest dog piles you ever saw. We also have a whole bunch of Santaria followers and other assorted nut-cakes. Indonesia isn't qualitatively different.
No. 2: While it is possible that this particular nut-cake is a Muslim, in Indonesia it is at least as likely that he is not, given that the is a self-admitted black-magic practitioner, or Dukun. He is at least as likely an animist of some sort. He certainly isn't sporting a Muslim name.
No. 3: I wouldn't make much of the fact that this guy is trying to put a spell on Bush. He's probably looking for publicity to shore up his Dukun trade. Indonesian Dukuns have tried to put spells of ddifferent types on me at several times in the past, and I've never noticed any ill effects. I don't think they are very good at it. Haitians are much more skilled.
No. 4: I wouldn't bother wasting a perfectly good epithet like "scum" on someone of so little consequence.

hahaha, I was not looking for a 4-point analysis of my off-the-cuff statement. i was merely taking a jab at Islam.

I realize that there's no way this guy is Muslim. And Indonesia isnt the most backward of all the Muslim nations. It is the most populous, numerically, not percentage-wise. and it's not a theocracy, although the fundamentalists do enforce Sharia themselves now and then...
