Good. Steny Hoyer may be wrong on some issues, but he's not a crook.

Moot point - election over

Hoyer - 149

Murtha - 86.

But, he didn't cut n' run; he just redeployed.

SMACKDOWN!!!

Pelosi really screwed this one up. Steney Hoyer won in a walkaway.

This will really set back the Moonbat caucus. Makes it a bit harder for Republicans.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

Not really. She was only going through the motions. She didn't make much of an effort beyond issuing her letter of support.

Could this all be Pelosi strategery? Throw a bone to the hard core lefties by supporting Murtha knowing he would lose, only to step back later and pull a Bill Clinton "I've never worked harder in my life, but I just couldn't get Murtha in the leadership".

Could be. But she has lost a lot of face by losing one of her first fights as SOH. Personally, I don't think she is that smart.

Bad for her, she is a loser out of the gates.

Bad for us, we lose a very entertaining target.

Not according to a Wash. Post article yesterday (scroll down and you'll see the link). The DBM (print and broadcast) have been saying for days that if Murtha goes down, it casts doubt on Pelosi's leadership abilities. If they try to explain Pelosi's endorsement of Murtha as merely political posturing and not really insincere, that doesn't reflect very well on her either.

But I do recall the DBM buying Clinton's excuse for Sandy Burgler's document pilfering - that Burgler was just notoriously messy.

Next question - how is the DBM going to explain how all this was shrewd political positioning by Pelosi?

Now begins the disinegration of the donk party. This is very bad news for the donks because they will tear each other apart now. I disagree with one thing, this is good for republicans because people will now openly see how radical Pelosi is.

Forget Hastings. RATS aren't that stupid, either.

"...surprise!, surprise! ... regardless of what they call it, DemocRATS will be "staying the course" much to the surprise of the clueless dufus' who voted for them because they promised to "get us out of Iraq". Hahahaha

Does anyone think Hillary isn't aware of this scenerio?:

"...Pulling out will endanger the Kurds, Iraqi reformers, the sanctity of U.S. pledges abroad, and the reputation of the American military for generations. It would be hard to believe Democrats want to someday read, as we do now of Vietnam, that we were close to stabilizing Iraq when the funding to do so was cut off. ..."

She will never allow the rest of the RATS to hang that baggage around her neck - sinking her like a stone for sure for the 2008 general election.

Ok, so, here's my question.

I know enough about Murtha to know he was a corrupt slimebag idiot, what with his Abscam scandal and his ridiculous "redeploy to Okinawa" drivel. Really is a shame he didn't get the spot.

I know next to nothing about Hoyer. What's he like? More of an actual moderate, or an almost-but-not-quite-as-hard leftie as Murtha? Sane or Howard Deanish? What are we in for?

Nancy is deeply saddened and it's some consolation that Murthawi the corrupt didn't get the position.

If the enemedia and pundits would have given the attention to Murthawi's corruptness and unethical behavior before the election that they did for this vote, Diana would be a Congresswoman now.

This will serve as a big blow to Nancy Pelosi.

Nope. I said yesterday here on FR that this was a set-piece show for the moonbats. Nancy and Hillary are smart enough to know that they can't have an ABSCAM Eating Surrender Monkey as the number 2 in the House. But she had to try publically for the moonbats and then throw him under the bus.

They allowed Murtha to be roasted and let him take the scandal spotlight.

Meanwhile, no one was writing about Hoyer's problems.
