It's more like lawsuit = $$$.
The people apparently signed a misleading agreement that said the movie would be shown only in Belarus. However, they signed a release afterwards, that they didn't read, that allowed the distributors to do whatever they pleased with the film.
The lesson? Never sign a release without reading it, or having your lawyer read it.

NY -- Comedian Sacha Baron Cohen was bashed by a passer-by in New York last month after he tried to play a prank as his alter ego, Borat.
According to London's Sun newspaper Cohen, adopting the character of Borat, the Kazakhstani TV reporter, approached the man and said: "I like your clothings. Are nice! Please may I buying? I want have sex with it."
But the bystander didn't see the joke and punched Cohen in the face.
The comedian was struck again and again before being rescued by actor friend Hugh Laurie of TV show House, who was accompanying Cohen to a New York bar.
The newspaper quotes a friend of Cohen as saying: "Sacha couldn't resist playing the fool as Borat, but picked on the wrong person".
The reported incident took place after Laurie and Cohen appeared on the US TV show Saturday Night Live late last month.
Cohen is currently in Australia promoting his successful spoof movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America For Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.
Studio chiefs have warned Cohen to avoid pretending to be Borat on the street. Since his film was launched he has only appeared in character while promoting the movie.
Borat is brilliant. I love that character.

Me, too. I haven't seen the movie, but have seen him in appearances on late night TV and I was ROTFLMAO.
Now, when someone just says "Very nice" in a normal voice, I keep hearing it as if Borat had said it - and I start laughing all over again.
Gloria is a media and camera wh*re. She wouldn't give a regular Joe the time of day if he needed her help.

No, he's not going to try and make any money off of them, but he said they were seriously out of line in their conduct. BTW, this was from a TV interview he gave, not from a conversation I had with him.
Personally, to me, these guys sound like they should be working for 60 Minutes.
