Dodd Bill May Be First Candidate for Bush Veto
Now Public ^ | 11/17/06 | Nuke Gingrich

In a surprising move yesterday, Christopher Dodd (D-CT) announced that he would introduce legislation to guarantee US Constitutional Rights to enemy combatants, and would seek to repeal portions of the recently enacted Military Commissions Act.

source: "It's clear the people who perpetrated these horrendous crimes against our country and our people have no moral compass and deserve to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But in taking away their legal rights, the rights first codified in our country's Constitution, we're taking away our own moral compass, as well."

If Dodd believes that last week's election was a mandate for this radical approach to dealing with enemy combatants, then the next two years may provide entertainment from DC not seen in a long time.

Bush won't have to veto it. There is no way in hell it'll get 51 votes, even with the D's controlling the Senate.

I'm willing to bet that Lieberman, Ben Nelson, Pryor, Lincoln, Landreiu, Johnson, Webb, Casey, Baucus, Tester, and Salazar won't vote for it.

The point, though, is to MAKE them do it.

<< Dodd is a nutcase. >>

Dodd, as, in both houses, are scores, perhaps hundreds, of others, is an alcoholic.

And one must never underestimate the evil inherent in every common-garden alcoholic.

Or doubt that since 1776 alcoholics have been and continue to be responsible for almost every single act of evil ever perpetrated by the United States' Congress or signed into Law by an alcoholic president.

Of whom the most prominent recently was Lyndon Baines Johnson, whose alcoholism was the architect of and micro-managed the national disaster we call the Vietnam War.

This could come back to bite Dodd and his chums on the ass real bad. Of course the president will veto it, so I hope he does introduce the bill.

The Al Qaeda Bill Of Rights deserves a swift presidential veto.

We need to focus on the misdeeds of "Jim Beam" not Chris Dodd. /s

Ah but remember that House Border Security Fence, that Hillry declared after the House passed, that the House Republicans would make Jesus illegal if they could?

Well the night before we were Foleized Hillry voted for that House Bill and Lieberman voted against it. Unfortunately the Republicans fawning all over Lieberman ignored that aspect of his lack of willingness to secure our borders in this war against terrorists.

These liberals are in a tag team one to another in opposition to our national security and the majority of Americans believe the Left has gotten religion.

Talk about giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Dodd is a piece of human debris that should be arrested and tried as a traitor.
