Sigh. More idiocy (if not intentionally dishonest misrepresentation) from Pat Boone and Wing-Nut Daily.

This program has NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, to do with "gays" in particular. It's an affiliate program that some homosexual related website has signed up for, as ANY website can.

A boycott, over this??? How much more stupid can Wing-Nut and the untalented rip-off artist PB get?

It isn't inflammatory for you to accuse me of trying to deny someone affiliate status when I didn't mention anything of the kind?

You went off on some hysterical rant against me, when I made one simple statement that was the truth.

This reminds me of the outrage perpetrated on families by American Girl dolls last year.

Well I actually have choices. I generally shop at local craft fairs for Christmas, simply because I like to support local people and find unique items.

I personally don't think it's a cheap shot. It's a shot across the bows of Walmarts managers who want to move the corporation leftward, so they can be like the rest of their corporate buddies at the country club.

Wal-mart used to be the one corporation that didn't toady to the politically correct. Now they aren't. And for what amount of measly dollars did they affect this change? They want to suck up to the left for pennies, at the expense of working class America because they think they own us, that we can't afford to shop elsewhere.

They are just tipping their toes in to test the waters. If we wimp out, other policies and procedures will slowly morph towards the culture of death because that's what sells and because some corporate mucky muck or his wife doesn't like being made fun of the by the "in' crowd at the exercise club or the golf course.

Just my .03 cents

...If shareholders want to personally donate to gay/lesbian causes, let them. But I don't feel it is right to be doing it thru the corp....

HAAAAaaaaaaaaahhhhh... :) HOW DO YOU SPELL "RELIEF?"

Thank you very much for pulling a GEM of a thought in all this muck.

Well... the reason is... that someone convinced Wal-Mart to use the COMPORATION NAME!... because that would "advance the agenda." You keep private and quiet, then, there is no impact with the public...:)

No, I didn't go off on some hysterical rant. I also didn't accuse you of trying to deny anyone affiliate status.

It's the whole WalMart bashing thing that goes on that gets my goat. I really regret if you thought I was bashing you or attacking you as that wasn't my intent. It just seems as if so many are so quick to condemn a company that does try to do its best to watch over things like content in CD's and that book they removed from their website after it was brought to their attention.

I apologise.

I totally support your right to feel like that - not that you need my approval.

I'm a lot more concerned about Walmart's relation with China than to them marketing and selling to Americans. I'm a capitialist.

Wal-Mart PAC Total Giving to Both Parties

Let's not forget that Hillary served on the Board of Wal-Mart.

Of course both Clinton's are inexorably tied to Tyson.

Yep, if anything Walmart is more conservative and more Republican than they were in those days... kind of ironic to see them attacked by conservatives now.

I understand people don't like homosexuality but to see the whole world based on who does business with gays seems self defeating and bad for the country. I don't like ultra-liberals either but Walmart is free to advertize and sell them Birkenstocks (or whatever they wear these days) if it makes money for Walmart -its the American way.

Just ref the donation by WalMart, as reported by AFA ( not the weblink percent), rawstory.com reports the following companies also contributed to NGLCC's Corporate Advisory Council (CAC) ----
IBM, Wells Fargo, JPMorgan Chase, American Airlines, Intel Corporation, Wyndham Hotels and Resorts, Lehman Brothers, Travelport, Merrill Lynch, American Express, Cisco Systems, Avis, Orbitz, Intuit, Kodak, Fannie Mae, Millennium Hotels and Resorts and Kimpton.
So what are you going to do about the Intel chip in your computer, the Chase and Amex cards in your wallet, your Kodak camera and picture papers?
Jusr asking....

I agree in theory, but I wish they would clarify the 5% a little bit better.

here it is pretty clear in the story... The cash donation will come from online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's website.

Maybe you misread it. It clarifies that the donation will come from the purchases through tthe gay website.

Just a little fact or two - -

New York Sun Editorial
February 6, 2006
Talk about perfect timing. The same day Senate records disclosed that Senator Clinton returned a $5,000 contribution from the political action committee of Wal-Mart, Quinnipiac University released a poll of 1,072 New York City registered voters and found that 51% of them support Wal-Mart opening stores in the city, while a scant 37% oppose it. The poll found that even in union households, 63% said if there was a Wal-Mart in their community they would shop there. Given the well-funded propaganda campaign that has been waged against Wal-Mart by its competitors and the labor unions, the ability of New York voters to see through to the facts is heartening.

So what are New Yorkers to make of Senator Clinton's apparent desire to distance herself from the company? It can't be that there's something intrinsic to Wal-Mart with which Mrs. Clinton has a problem. When Mrs. Clinton's husband was an Arkansas politician and she was the real breadwinner in the family, she served, between 1986 and 1992, as a member of Wal-Mart's corporate board of directors. Now, an aide explained to the Associated Press, Mrs. Clinton has "serious differences" with the company's practices.

The story clarifies that only 5% of the sales coming through the gay groups website. Be careful about screaming about fact checking when an important fact of the story was overlooked by one Gondram.

from the story The cash donation will come from online purchases made at Wal-Mart through the homosexual group's website.

But to have a million people do a boycott without fact checking is a disgrace to people who claim to be doing this in the name of Christianity.

The facts were checked and printed in the story. See the background of the founder of WalMart, Mr Waltons convictions are being abandoned and thus the outcry. If a company gives a penny to some organization that you dont like you have to right, you and 1million of your friends have every right to boycott.

First, thanks for finding that.

Second, it doesn't bother me at all - it says they don't discriminate based on sexual orientation - I agree with that - its special rights for homosexuals and legalizing gay marriage I oppose. It says they act as an advocate for their employees - I doubt they really mean that but its a smart thing to say.

All in all I think this is another example of the AFA exagerating so much that they have basically been dishonest.
