AMERICA'S MAYOR SEEKS LARGER EMPIRE (Giuliani as presidential candidate is scary)
NY POST ^ | November 19, 2006 | VOX POPULI (letters to the editors)

Posted on 11/19/2006 5:37:05 AM PST by Liz

****......he won't be able to get conservatives on his presidential bandwagon. He is pro-choice and favors same-sex marriage, gun control and stem-cell research. He has to be able to swing Middle America. Name redacted Bellerose

**** Who is going to run Giuliani's exploratory committee? I understand Bernie Kerik, Russell Harding, Richard Roberts and a list of assorted cons are available from Giuliani's group of yes men. Maybe his driver will be our next attorney general. That's just what our country needs - more scandals. Whitestone

**** Giuliani was a terrible mayor, and has spent all his days promoting himself. Manhattan

**** Giuliani for president? What is happening to the moral high ground of the Republicans? It sounds like they are becoming the more corrupt and morally disgusting bunch of the two parties, yet they want Giuliani to lead the party of moral conviction and family values? Memphis, Tenn.

**** Giuliani as a presidential candidate is a scary concept. Manhattan

Big media did take out George Allen, but he certainly helped. Anyone who is dumb enough to call a young Indian kid "Macaca" while looking into his video camera is not presidential material.

Well there is mass deception already flowing like a flood. Wait until you find out just how Christian Hillry will appear.

I expect campaign '08' theme to be 'love the sinner', and
peace, peace, peace, right out of an old time revival.

There may be something on Barbour, but I live in a suburb of Mississippi, and have never heard anything even remotely controversial about him!!

Rudi's liberal views on abortion, gays, and guns--which I oppose--will not stop me from voting for him if that is what it takes to keep the Hildabeast and Slick Willy from moving back into 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. I can't think of a stronger advocate for fighting and winning the war against militant Islam than Rudi. If Rudi is top man I sleep well at night. I believe he has enough political smarts to not try to force his liberal social views on the party or the nation while he is president. I also question how much some of his liberal social views are heartfelt. How else but with liberal social positions is a GOPer to be elected in NYC? Name another Republican who has without faltering supported our President and other GOP candidates the way Rudi has? You haven't seen Rudi hitting the president so as to suck up to the liberal media the way McCain has. I am a conservative Republican but that does not mean I believe in forgoing power to stand on principle. Those who follow the purist path are inviting a solid Democrat congress and presidency in 2008.

If liberals are thinking this, then Rudy must be the man.

Yup.
I see the Hitlery attack dogs in New York have been unleashed. I have been expecting that for some time.
No surprise there.
Question is, why should I buy this garbage?
I know first hand what Guliani has done for New York.
Exactly what has Hitelry ever done for anybody since she was born, apart from screw up everything she ever touched, inlcudinmeg her notorious, failed Health Plan?
It's Guiliani all the way.

The thing that comes to my mind about Barbour was after an election, I think 92, liberals in Congress wanted his head and I think it had to do with campaign $$$$ while running the RNC.

Course the speech god McCain has sorted all that out, he helped birth $ORO$ to buy the Congress.

I could have done everything that you say Rudy did. I could have also, baked great chocolate chip cookies and handed them out to the workers at the WTC.

Rudy is no hero, when he condones the murder of millions of unborn babies.

Exactly right.
There is simply NO WAY in hell I am going to sit idly by, and let the Great Satan Hitlery and her super sleazy spouse back into the White House, when I could have voted in the tried and tested, strong on WOT Giuliani instead.
Against Hitelry, Guiliani gets my vote.
It's a no brainer.

You'll get the solid Dem government you say you don't want with that kind of thinking.

You know, I keep hearing from the Rudy boosters about the "great leadership" that Rudy provided during and after 9/11, but they are vague when it comes to specifics. In my view, the two major things that Rudy did were: 1. Go on TV and tell people in Manhatten to move north, and 2. Attend a lot of funerals of firemen and police officers.

"Conservatives better find a candidate."
You are so correct. I think we are going to have another Bob Dole election run. I like Dole and voted for him but he lacked something, imo. It looks like we are in for at least 12 years of dem control. Two from Bush and 8 from Hillary.

Talk is cheap.
Why didn't you then?
Why didn't you become mayor at a time when crime was making everyone's life hell, and hammer the hoods, the vicious killers and the muggers into the ground?
Anyone "coulda". Its those that actually DID that count.

I think this idiot is from Manhattan Beach, California, because Giuliani was an indisputably fantastic mayor. I agree he has been a shameless self-promoter since then, as is every politician. But to say he was a "terrible mayor" is just stupidity.

And AQ is on the move. They will strike here, only amatter of time.
