What do you think of opening the attic access to draw air into the attic?
To me it would help air flow from the house and help cool the attic. A roof turbine could also help release heated air.

Sounds good. I have attic stairs and I keep the door open and attic windows open. You can feel the air going up into the attic like a chimney.

I'll be building in far west Texas. I'm planning on NO utility bills (hopefully). All power generated by a combo of solar and wind. Two things we have an abundance of in that part of the country. 8-)
