<< Yeah, if this report is true, then Condi really stabbed Cheney and Rumsfeld in the back. >>

Salon's polemicists are not noted for their veracity when it comes to their everyday subversion, occasional treason and to using every opportunity that presents to knife American patriots in the back but having, through the decades, spent the odd month or two around Foggy Bottom and gotten to know the self-anointing, self-appointing and self-perpetuating in-bred bastard offspring of the Communist Party of America/Alger Hiss et all-descended un-and-anti-American bastardry that comprises "our" State Department's brahmanas, I'd be more surprised at this stage of her time there if Ms Rice has not been absolutely corrupted by that awful entity than if she has.

Why, from the instant he walked through Foggy Bottom's front door, long-time Republican Party and Bush Family blind spots occupying and Peter-Principle poster person, Colin Powell, was instantly at home among State's Bush Derangement Syndrome sufferers and its carefully cloned Foreign(er) Service(ing) legions of programed pathological America haters.

Good point. I don't like Rice, but it probably goes with her job. Hard to know what she really thinks. Just don't like her statements about how Palestinians desire peace. Absolutely idiotic, whosever thought that is.

I wasn't happy with that myself...but, I have to tell myself that the STATE Dept...is all about diplomacy and getting along....UGH.

I would want her to be completely removed from that mindset before I would want to have her answer any questions..that I would want answered as a candidate for anything.

"Yeah, if this report is true, then Condi really stabbed Cheney and Rumsfeld in the back."

I love Condi. Howwever, this isn't about her. It is about the position. The SecState is about as left as you can go while trying to maintain the Presidents agenda.

"I agree...that's the way it looks...but would Condi, Cheney and Rumsfeld really be off the same page? "

Powell was, and he was a General who was well respected.

I agree. I would say bipartisanship would be the ideal, IF DEMS WANTED VICTORY... They do not. The President was right to be against the 9/11 Commission originally. Heck, those unelected leaders went on tour to promote themselves.

You are right, it goes with the definition of the job. Personal & business diplomacy is something I am good about in life, but despise in foreign affairs... ////I also think there's something in the water fountains at Foggy Bottom./sarc

Yeah, if this report is true, then Condi really stabbed Cheney and Rumsfeld in the back.

Actually she stabbed all of us in the back, especially the troops. I guess we should expect this kinda stuff, it's from the state department.

Lets hope it's not true.

I doubt they agreed with her but I don't think they were fooled or that she even tried to hide her agenda from them. The high end of diplomacy has only a few players and they know each other very well. Certainly, they knew she had realist sympathies all along.

Thanks for posting that...

I hate to say this..but even though he is right about the divisiveness in America being so bad...

My first thought after reading the second link...was, "and who do you think you are?"

IOW...I feel like he took it upon himself to start some group to do what?? He says in the article that experts have all said we can't leave there while it is like it is...

So...are these "fresh eyes" of some of the oddest choices of people...supposed to tell our MILITARY how to fight a war??

I don't get it...he himself admits that we can't leave the country to chaos...it would be too dangerous for our national security...and he insists he is looking forward, not backward.

It seems to me...that this is something to be discussed with the MILITARY...not a bunch of out of work people that want to feel relevant again.

"Now, is this written to get Condi out of the race (even if she says she isn't running...it would supposedly make her "fans" mad at her)??"

Depends on who her fans are. Perhaps it is written to separate Condi from Bush admin policy.

Politicians sticking their noses into a war was our biggest mistake during the Vietnam War.
