This is a great opportunity for FOX because SNL has to be the worst show on television and it will be going off the air soon (my prediction).
I think it would garner a very good audience.
"and it will be going off the air soon (my prediction)."
I thought that a few years ago. What is keeping that thing alive?
Clinton was the best thing going for SNL for a while.
May I suggest one skit? A couple of moonbats going through basic training and consoling each other that "We really didn't get drafted. The great Charles Rangel is just trying to make a point!"
Of course, the drill instructor feels otherwise.
So, I can say without a doubt, conservatives are funnier.
Agreed!! They should come here for the funniest lines EVER!
How about Tim Slagle?
Head writer: Mark Steyn
Writer: Jim Lileks
Music director: Doug From Upland
Any other recommendations?
May I suggest "Breaking News" for the title. It conveys the same theme and also an intent to "break" the liberal stereotype so obviously present in the current TV news magazine format.
This is a great concept and I hope it does very well in the ratings. I will definitely be watching for it.
Wouldn't that be something if this is the show that finally shows SNL the door?
This would be a great idea if it works. The left wing slant and vicious digs at the right are everywhere in the "entertainment" media. It's as if they feel compelled to trash Bush and Republicans. Never mind that they are offending tens of millions of viewers in the process. I guess the writers and other elites just assume 100% of Americans agree with them on everything.
A right wing show produced by a bunch of lefties.
Wow, I'm excited....
(/sarcasm)
I've never thought of those as leaning right. Sometimes they make fun of the left, sometimes the right. (Fair and Balanced?)
How about "That Was The Week That Was II". Pioneered political comedy on TV, what? 40 years ago?
bump
Hey, this guy is wearing a wedding ring! Not fair. He can't be on TV. He's promoting monogamy!
Well, as long as he gets divorced every 6 months like other Hollywierds.
With the success of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, Fox is making a smart move to take on a satirical news show. As long as Olbermann is on the air and the Dems are in charge, they'll have no shortage of material.
Yes, they do tend to make fun of the right there too, I guess. I am glad they tell quick little tidbits that the dbm never mentions.
Maybe not funny enough tho...
Ping.
Brit's Grapevine funnies frequently come for Leno or Litterman. There probably just isn't that much for him to choose from to get a fair mix.
