This would be perfect for Dennis Miller It would be a great vehicle for some of David Burge's (IowaHawk) stuff too. Dave's hilarious!

Do you just write stand-up comedy, or screenplays too? Never written a screenplay. My old excuse was that I didn't know how or what one looked like. (Poor excuse, I know.)
Mostly, I wrote short stories, but I haven't written much of anything in years. I was published in MAD Magazine once. I've worked on a few things recently, but I never get around to finishing and submitting. (I've known people that keep "polishing" and never finish and send it off. I'm one of them now.)
I've also written gaming material for Steve Jackson Games.
I wish I had a good idea that would hold up for a screenplay. My brother's friend moved to California and is currently a producer, so there's always that possibility ... (Actually, the most I would do is ask him to look at it and comment or possibly ask where to send it)

I had always hoped someone would come up with a reverse All In The Family type show--- flaky, narcissistic, hypocritical moonbat parents surrounded by conservative kids, etc, or something like that. That was sort of the original idea behind "Family Ties": two former hippies with conservative children. However, it morphed in Michael J. Fox becoming the uber-Conservative and the other kids being somewhat like their parents, but not as blatant. Granted, the parents had to occasionally stop being liberals and start being parents.

Oh man, I think we desperately need good writers these days, it's amazing the horrible stuff that gets made.
BTW, I just recently heard an interview with a producer of a sitcom, he said sitcoms love to get scripts from writers, and that it is much, much, easier to get your stuff on film if you pick a sitcom on today, and write an episode for them.
He gave the impression that it is a good way to break in to the business, so that your screenplays and show ideas will be heard.
Maybe you could try that route?

Paul Shanklin is a great conservative political satirist.

I should give a shot. Christmas break is coming. I'll be between semesters of grad school and not thinking about my high school students.
Thanks.

You know, there are so many Conservative women that I'd love to see in that outfit on that cover ...
But they all have such class and good taste that they'd never lower themselves to do it.
God, I love conservative women. And aint it just too bad that that's only a figure of speech.
