This is P-H-O-N-Y — as in bogus, false, fake, fraudulent, spurious; counterfeit, forged, feigned; pseudo, imitation, sham, mock, ersatz, synthetic, artificial; simulated, pretended, contrived, affected, insincere, inauthentic; informal pretend and put-on.

they had only the vaguest description of a man who they thought might have been the Ripper, and they weren't even sure that the person described was the perp.

The most logical suspect was a man named Nathan Kaminsky.

Agreed. The fact that the police pulled their men out of the neighborhood at the same time he was chucked into an asylum is telling.

Re: My Reply 55 above:

The prime suspect's name was Aaron Kosminski, not Nathan Kaminsky.

Nah, I don't believe that Jack the Ripper was obviously insane. The women who were murdered were "street smart." They would not go to a dark and secluded alley with someone who was behaving like a homicidal maniac, especially after the murders became public knowledge. Jack would be very normal and benign in appearance in order for the women to go willingly.
