I am not against upgrading our infrastructure, but I am against the way the issue is being handled. Many of us in Texas see it as a big land grab. It's being sold as the answer to all of our transportation issues. It has even extended to the tolling of local existing roadways which have already been paid for (US 281, FM 1604 in San Antonio).

One question does remain in my mind though. If we have a massive highway running from Mexico to Canada, why secure the borders?

I think they are already working on an "inland port" here in Kansas City where Mexican customs officials will work with US customs officials. We already have a a foreign trade zone and now a "smartport". There are some interesting stories.

KC SmartPort

Congress OKs $750,000 for SmartPort

KC, Mexican officials will set up trade corridor

It's going to be good for the economy here, but what will it bring concerning illegals and terrorists? Who knows at this moment?

Firstly, appreciate the response.

The picture looks similar to an invasion plan, but so what? Another picture could show a bunch of American shoppers with cheap Asian products. Also, considering Kansas City is Kansas City, the language is apparently English. Why then are Tokyo (Tokio) and Pusan (Busan, though this one could simply be an alternate spelling; if Korean is similar to Putonghua (Mandarin) in that b and p seem the same, then Busan and Pusan would also be the same) misspelled? And why is East Asia separated from the rest of the planet?

Maybe the artist wanted to demonstrate the superiority of the Asian continent.
