'You are right, Hitler was not an atheist. He was an occultist.
Hitler was Catholic until he was about 15. He stopped going to mass after his father died.'
There are no references to occultism in Mein Kampf or in any of his speeches. There are dozens which refer to his catholicism and belief in a christian God. His goal was the creation of the Third Reich, a direct continuation of the holy roman empire.
I am not arguing that he was a good catholic, but he certainly considered himself one.
I believe many of the Enlightenment philosophers were atheists, but were unable to openly admit it, because political correctness prevented it. Many of them "reasoned" around it. Modern thinkers don't talk about Christianity, but instead talk in terms of the Christian myth in much the same way.
If you are going to try to persuade a population, you speak to them from their beliefs, rather than your own. Paine didn't quote the book of Kings in "Common Sense", because he was a Bible believing Christian, nor was he Jewish. He quoted from Kings, because he knew many in the population he wanted to reach were Bible believing Christians.
A nonbeliever can use the religions of others as useful tools, especially if you're able to bend their religions sufficiently to make it cede to your will. The true beliefs of these manipulators are best seen by their actions, which is what I meant when I said, "by their fruits you will know them."
Hitler became his own deity.

If you want on (or off) this Catholic and Pro-Life ping list, let me know!
I am not Catholic, but I am pro-life so thank you for putting me on the list.
That Hitler made Christian sounding statements hardly makes him a Christian. Bill and Hillary Clinton do the same, yet few, at least on FR, consider them Christian.
New tagline found in the article.
It's a good one.
Attended mass regularly and went to confession, did he?
You take Adolf Hitler at his word? It's ok if you do -- Chamberlain did. So did Stalin.
