Just last night I heard a proud man from the Gila Indian Reservation in Arizona talking about the duties of a Warrior in his tribe.

Two tribes live there. Pima and Maricopa. Now better off financially, yet they try to retain aspects of their culture. (This man was wearing a white shirt with tie. Speaking fluent English. Working on his 3rd college degree)

The history of the Plains Indian Wars clearly records the Sioux did most of the fighting and dying.

To settle this, ask the Native Americans in Dakota Territory. Can the college use the name?

I like the UND President's letter. It is well spoken and thought out. It is overdue for a coup'd'etat to occur in the NCAA. First out would be NCAA CEO Myles Brand followed by his beloved Executive Committee. Overthrow of the NCAA power structure would do a lot of good.

Few people are aware that Mr. Myles Brand has ruined Indiana University with executive pay increases for himself and his select few of 20% per year while the rank-n-file workers were lucky to see 2% increases including professors. He also fired the legendary Coach Bobby Knight who refused to kiss his @$$. Mr. Brand is unfit to be the CEO of the NCAA or any other organization !
