A couple months ago there was a thread about a protestant monk who set himself on fire in protest of islam. His act generated at least some sympathy here. My take on either one is the same. Self-destruction just to "make a point" is always evil, regardless of the cause. There is no virtue in it at all.

There is virtue in laying down your life for another, but that was not the case here or in the other thread.

I have memorized all the US presidents, vice presidents, California governers and their order number (ei Grover Cleveland was president numbers 22 and 24).
