left to liberals to define what a religious nut is

A religious nut is anyone who objects to books in a curriculum reading list by Maya Angelou or JD Salinger or other inspirational authors of our time when those books promote promiscuity, or anti-American loyalty to the UN, etc.

synonym for religious nut . . . . freeper

What, does she think her daughter will catch some kind of disease if she touches a Bible?

Maybe I shouldn't ask that.

Well looks like Michael Savage was right again. Used to be a time when you found a Gideon's Bible in the motel nightstand for moral support when vulnerable and adrift. Now you just find a remote and the pay-per-view porn schedule.

I just don’t understand what the ACLU finds so threatening about allowing kids access to religious materials at school.
The ACLU does not find religious material threatening, only CHRISTIAN material.

Mountain home is a very conservative place. A great place to live. All it takes is ONE liberal to spoil the whole town. I remember the Gideons handing out Bibles at Arkansas Tech University in 1977. I took one and thanked them. They were nice. Now had they been handing out the Communist Manifesto it would be just wonderful as that would be educational material. As is the Bible. I still have mine and still appreciate the gift that I accepted with my own free will.

"From my memories of the Gideons they were very careful not to attempt in any unwanted pressure or attempt to directly convert anyone."
Likewise. When I saw them on my campus in the past, they'd always just say, "Hey, would you like a free Bible?" Nothing more, other than maybe a 'Have a good day.'

Based on the last election behavior, I believe it's fair to say that this is what evangelicals want.

How many people staying in motels/hotels, really are vulnerable and adrift...most are travelling or on vacation.

I expect to see new hate speech bills that will censor the Bible, following Canada's precedent.

"I remember the Gideons handing out Bibles at Arkansas Tech University in 1977."

When I was in elementary school in the 50's, they came into our school and gave each student a Bible. I still have mine. We also had someone from the Gideons come in and teach a Bible class once a month. A different time and place -- sigh.

I have stayed at many hotels during the course of my business travels. Over the years I've run into more than my share of hookers; some have been suprisingly innocent acting and looking. No, I've never used anyone's services while on the road.

The Gideon's Bible was always there.

Thankfully, there's more Bibles than hookers. It looks like some people want to reverse that fact.

The ACLU goes overboard sometimes?

Unfortunately not on the Titanic.

ACLU has done more to damage the fabric of our country than any other organization.

Correct. The ACLU has become the #1 enemy of freedom in the US

How long is the American taxpayer going to be forced to pay the ACLU to destroy our way of life?

"Correct. The ACLU has become the #1 enemy of freedom in the US"

When did they displace the Democrats?
