The President should give up the gracious act and just ignore the sad loser junior Senator from Virginia.

you're right - allen ran a weak campaign, and he didn't believe he could be beat. I hope it was a wake up call.

Everytime I see a picture of Webb, I see Larry Flynt -- low class, no class, porn-writing RAT/lib/socialist. And we are stuck with this guy for six years.

So he's not a hothead, just a graceless bore who further demeans the traditions and courtesies of the Senate? Gee I feel SO much better now.

Just now?Your shame has probably been long-established, considering the deginerate that serves in the House, Jim Moran. He's a total disgrace to our country.

I was attending a business conference in DC years ago where he was the "special guest". He visited the different booths. When he came to my company's booth, I left. It took every part of me not to spit in his face.

He's a professional oxygen thief.

Jim Webb's move from the Republican Party to the DemonRATs was in keeping with who he is. He is the poster boy for a Narcissist. A hothead Narcissist at that.

Let them run him as their vice president in 2008. That would be in keeping with who the DemonRATs are also.

In the Navy, during a day of watch or duty, you have the duty signalman, duty radioman, duty fireman, etc. These are the guys who are responsible for the their divisions responsibilities after knockoff. Years ago, when I was in the navy and on one of the ships I served on, one guy in the berthing always walked around with his chest puffed out and talked tough. We refered to him as the duty badass, in a derisive manner, of course. Well, he tried his act one time against a fellow radioman and got his butt kicked for his troubles. After that, whenever he would puff up around me, I would tell him he better quite down or I have to get Chavis back down here and kick his ass again. President Bush should have said something similar to Webb. Quite down or I'll have to get Ollie North here to knock you out, again!

"I think one of the strategies of the administration, it seems to be to try to say early on that I'm a hothead, you know, or that I can't work in the political process, or whatever." Uh, huh. And this is the same guy who through a spokesperson told The Hill newspaper: Webb confessed that he was so angered by this that he was tempted to slug the commander-in-chief Yeah, that's not a hothead.

" Of Bush's question, Webb said yesterday, "I think even he would probably understand that's a little bit over the line." He said the question was not an easy one to answer "when your son's in combat."

Senator Elect Tangled Webb ( D- Crazytown ) bizarrely wore his son's combat boots during campaign appearances.
With a suit, no less.
I suppose that's better than turning his baby son upside down....
Webb, had he any class, would have said his son was a proud Marine serving his country.
Memo to the media- Unbalanced behavior and rage are not personality enhancements.

This guy will certainly make John McLame appear as reasonable, calm and rational (while ranting and out of control.)

Not really gossip since Webb admitted the truth of the report. That kinda takes the edge off his claim that Bush is trying to make him look bad.

Bush is trying to make Webb look bad by "leaking" the truth!

Sen.-elect Jim Webb contends the Bush administration wants to paint him as a "hothead."

We need to continue to identify him as a Pedophile pornographer.

"Yeah, I'd have to say that's a hothead with a problem operating in the political process."

And he's not even in the political process yet. What can we expect, once he's actually sworn in, lol?

Webb is doing a good job of painting himself as a hothead. By the way, it was Webb who gave the interview to the Washington Post, not the White House. Webb is just trying to "earn his bones", to borrow a phrase.

Oh but didn't you know that Webb supposedly salutes the Confederate flag

Better than saluting the mexican flag wouldn't you say, dane? Well, maybe not where you're concerned. Forget I said anything.

"He was told, Webb volunteered in an interview, that someone at the White House leaked a report of the episode, although he didn't know if that was true."

In other words, he has no basis for what he is supposedly contending.

Doesn't matter, it makes him a hero to the nutroots.

" . . . Allen's campaign got caught flat-footed and looked like they sort of started to panic the last two months of the campaign--the Webb-as-perv-author and Webb-as-plagarist themes just never caught on."

Flat-footed and utterly tone-deaf. Instead of highlighting terminal hypocrisy--like accepting $345K from a U. S. senator against whom Webb had railed for 30-odd years--the Allen campaign highlights four paragraphs of "porn." One would think that an association with John Kerry wouldn't play too well with Virginia's military population. But Allen or his advisors simply refused to make it an issue.

Another USNA ring-knocker. Is it something in the water? Funny we haven't heard much about the new senator from another alum--Ollie.

It's starting to look possible that Webb is the white man's Maxine Waters.

"Let me ask a dumb question here....Can a senator be recalled if opponents or the folk in general, from that state, collect enough signatures to end his term?"

My husband was asking me this last night. He thinks there could be enough people here in VA who cast the "protest" vote to make a difference.
Let me know if you find out anything.
