CARACAS (AFP) - Venezuela's President Hugo Chavez said that when he called US President George W. Bush a "devil" before the UN General Assembly, he was talking straight from the heart.
"The way I called him a devil was not something I had planned, it came from the heart, because for me, it's the truth," Chavez said at a news conference.
When he addressed the General Assembly in New York in September, Chavez said he could still smell the odor of sulfur left by the devil, a reference to Bush who had spoken the previous day.
"Somebody had to tell the devil that he's a devil," Chavez said on Thursday.
He said his words were a reaction to the speech by Bush, who, he claimed, "thinks he's the boss of the world and threatens the world."
Chavez stressed he just spoke his mind.
"I don't know why they were offended," he said.

You'd think so, wouldn't you? But he just keeps making up imaginary "assasination plots" to keep himself in the headlines. It's like the mosquito that won't stop buzzing in your ear. He's annoying but too insignificant for us to really do anything about.
