Residents use pig races to deter building of mosque

Residents don't want group in their area

KTRK By Ted Oberg

- There's an awful lot of exciting news when you round the corner on Baker Road. One of two big yellow signs announces a new neighbor is coming soon.

Also on ABC13.com:
Send news tips | RSS | ABC13 E-lert | Info mentioned on air | Search abc13.com

K.I.A., that's the Katy Islamic Association, plan to build a mosque here.

"It's not an appropriate place to have a mosque or church," said resident Barbara Simpson.

It isn't going over real well.

"As a house of worship, they shouldn't be disturbing the peace and tranquility of 15 homes," said resident John Wetmore.

Neighbors tell us they're concerned about traffic and drainage and a little fear of the unknown. Some of the homeowners even offered to buy the land back for more than a million dollars. The K.I.A. doesn't seem very interested in the offers.

"We're not going anywhere," said Katy Islamic Association member Alvi Muzfar.

So it seems the community at the end of Baker Road has a pretty good fight. But this fight has gone much farther than many between two neighbors. You see in these fights, sometimes neighbors throw mud at one another. In this instance, they're wallowing in it.

Craig Baker owns pigs. He's the guy behind the second big yellow sign on Baker Road. That's the one announcing Friday night pig races.

"What does it matter, I can do whatever I want with my land right," asked landowner Craig Baker.

Sure can. But aren't pigs on the property line racing on a Friday night a little offensive to a Muslim neighbor?

"The meat of a pig is prohibited in the religion of Islam," said Katy Islamic Association member Youssof Allam. "It's looked upon as a dirty creature."

Yeah, there's that and also that Friday night is a Muslim holy day.

"That is definitely a slap in the face," said Allam..

Now before you go thinking Craig Baker is unfair, or full of hate, or somehow racist, hear him out.

Baker has long roots here. His family named the road and when the new neighbors moved in, he tells us, they asked him to move out.

"Basically that I should package up my family and my business and find a place elsewhere," said Baker. "That's ridiculous, they just bought the place one week prior and he's telling me I should think about leaving."

That new owners deny they ever said anything like that, but Baker isn't budging.

Baker admits the pigs are a message he is not leaving.

The 11-acre property is sandwiched between a pricey subdivision and Craig Baker's business.

K.I.A. eventually plans to build a mosque, a gym and a school there. There's no date for the groundbreaking ceremonies, or the first pig race.

If John Conyers has his way, Mr. Baker has not seen the last of this trouble. His actions are about to become hate crimes, and his words hate speech, if the new Dhimmi Congress has its way.

Well, there's always more than one way to skin a...er, I mean to stop a mosque from being built.

Kudos to Mr Baker and if the muzzies don't like it they can relocate.

We'll see how this plays out. I'd be willing to purchase a whole herd of pigs to be turned loose inside the mosque if it is ever built.

You mean like Crystal Night in Nazi Germany? Just wondering which arm of the military, local militias or just out of control mobs you plan on using to destroy places of worship. Because I know when you do, I plan on insisting that the police round you all up and shoot you when needed to protect the public order.

I know it feels good to vent on all moslems and their religion, but when you do you are just playing into the terrorists hands.

PHILOSOPHY PING

(If you want on or off this list please freepmail me.)

I know this may not seem like philosophy, but philosophy has consequences and this story would not be possible but for the multiculturalism rampant in this country.

The story may also seem a bit funny, but there is nothing funny about the threat to property rights, free speech, and Western society this story represents.

I sympathize with Farmer Baker. The story didn't mention it, but the neighborhood is going to be driven nuts by the "call to prayer" wailing out of loudspeakers five time a day. I travel to Malaysia a lot on business and even in the best hotels I have to put up with that. If I had to put up with that in my neighborhood I would probably have pig feces throwing contests in the general direction of the mosque.

Mosques and the people who run them should not be allowed in this country, period. No negotiation.

"Other mosques in the nation need to be demolished and the land razed."

Ohhh PULLEEEEEZZZZZ.....

Damn. If this was a big Baptist church that the neighbors didn't want, we'd have a million posts on here talking about the loss of the Freedom of Religion at the hands of liberals.

The neighbors don't want a huge new church, mosque or synagogue going up in their residential neighborhood. The fact that it's a mosque doesn't help, but the problem is that they don't want a big ANYTHING in there.

And, for the record, it is possible to have a large mosque and not have any Jihad stuff. I've lived with Muslims in Michigan for years, and so far every one of them that I've talked to totally repudiate their radical brothers. Just like in Christianity, there is lots of variation on how Islam is practiced, and when the radicals are not attacking us, they're attacking their brothers (who then move here).

"But aren't pigs on the property line racing on a Friday night a little offensive to a Muslim neighbor?" Since when do they worry about offending us? If they don't want to be around pig races, how 'bout returning to their ancestral hell hole? They move in and, with unmitigated gall, want to tell us how do live by THEIR rules and what to do. Hooray for Katy. Perhaps someone could rent a crop duster and sprinkle powdered pig doody all over their property from the air.

But of course, in Fairfax County, Virginia, the local government told a church to stop tolling its bells because neighbors were "annoyed" by the noise.

Yet law-abiding scholars write:
Law is neither wrong nor right,
Law is only crimes
Punished by places and by times,
Law is the clothes men wear
Anytime, anywhere,
Law is Good morning and Good night.

Others say, Law is our Fate;
Others say, Law is our State;
Others say, others say
Law is no more,
Law has gone away.

And always the loud angry crowd,
Very angry and very loud,
Law is We,
And always the soft idiot softly Me.

Sorry, you lose. Pick another idea.

Good idea. Permanent idea. Eternal idea.

Read the following and remember Who is in charge. I can be dead and gone and the following will STILL be effected if people reject God. There is no God but God. Allah is NOT God. You are not arguing with me.

Leviticus 26:19 'And I will also break down your pride of power; I will also make your sky like iron and your earth like bronze.
Leviticus 26:20 'And your strength shall be spent uselessly, for your land shall not yield its produce and the trees of the land shall not yield their fruit.
Leviticus 26:21 'If then, you act with hostility against Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will increase the plague on you seven times according to your sins.
Leviticus 26:22 'And I will let loose among you the beasts of the field, which shall bereave you of your children and destroy your cattle and reduce your number so that your roads lie deserted.
Leviticus 26:23 'And if by these things you are not turned to Me, but act with hostility against Me,
Leviticus 26:24 then I will act with hostility against you; and I, even I, will strike you seven times for your sins.
Leviticus 26:25 'I will also bring upon you a sword which will execute vengeance for the covenant; and when you gather together into your cities, I will send pestilence among you, so that you shall be delivered into enemy hands.
Leviticus 26:26 'When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will bring back your bread in rationed amounts, so that you will eat and not be satisfied.
Leviticus 26:27 'Yet if in spite of this, you do not obey Me, but act with hostility against Me,
Leviticus 26:28 then I will act with wrathful hostility against you; and I, even I, will punish you seven times for your sins.
Leviticus 26:29 'Further, you shall eat the flesh of your sons and the flesh of your daughters you shall eat.
Leviticus 26:30 'I then will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and heap your remains on the remains of your idols; for My soul shall abhor you.
Leviticus 26:31 'I will lay waste your cities as well, and will make your sanctuaries desolate; and I will not smell your soothing aromas.
Leviticus 26:32 'And I will make the land desolate so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled over it.
Leviticus 26:33 'You, however, I will scatter among the nations and will draw out a sword after you, as your land becomes desolate and your cities become waste.
Leviticus 26:34 'Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths all the days of the desolation, while you are in your enemies' land; then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

In case some of you fail to notice, God is pretty adamant about not being rejected. He does NOT approve of Islam as it is a false religion, it advocates violence and vehemently opposes christianity.

From the elitist, leftist point of view, if we were educated and bright enough to understand and accept moral relativity as the law of the land, they wouldn't need to legislate extra protection for minorities. The left believes that if we would just accept the minorities as they are, flaws included, that all the problems of the world would be solved.

This is where Christianity an Judaism get in the way. These religions both include a set of moral guidelines which spell out right and wrong in black and white. The left lives in a gray world.

Other mosques in the nation need to be demolished and the land razed.

When the terrorists start bombing within the continental USA, that just might happen. Muslim leaders, especially these so called imams within these mosques, do not condemn terrorism. In fact, they support and advocate it. So when the backlash comes, they will have only themselves to blame.
