What does Sharpton and Jackson expect? This is what they have worked for all these years. What they still don't realize is that all their rhetoric has meaning to this teenage idiots. To them it's a way to get on TV and make money, to these kids, those words mean something and creates hatred for the evil whitey.

I guess one of the lessons here is that while it is tempting to read accounts like this and look at all black people as low-life savages, there are some good and very brave black people out there. The ones who intervened are risking a lot - they have to live in the neighborhood.

This isn't an isolated incident. Similar thing happened twice in Las Vegas this year, one where a group of black youths swarmed a parking attendant at a major hotel and beat and kicked him -- all caught on tape and then again this summer when they swarmed downtown and into a casino -- I believe a person died in that incident. Last month a similar attack happened at an upscale mall in Jackson, Miss.

I think it said they were dressed up to go go a halloween party and decided to go see the haunted house in Bixby Knolls while waiting for a friend to get off work. Yes, that area is upper-class but the surrounding area (Willmington, Harbor City) certainly are not..

Well, that's not the answer either. With bad luck, the one they grabbed for payback would be one of the good people. And the real perps are still out there walking free. That's one of the problems with viligante mob justice.

Best to carry concealed and hope you never have to shoot to defend yourself, but if you do, you have the means to defend yourself.

The story reminded of when I was in grade school. I used to take the city bus and after school each day I was chased by such gangs while waiting for the bus. Got my butt kicked many times and after having all my money taken I would have to walk 10 miles. One day a old black guy came to my defense and I never forgot it.

We shouldn't think of all black people as low life savages -- but we should worry that youths of any color behave like this.

Humans need a good 15-20 years of civilizing by competent adults. We need to worry about babies being left uncivilized and growing up godless and wild. PC prevents us from looking at the cases in our country where de-civilization is quite evident.

You might have been the one who told me about this on another thread. I saw the CSI episode that surely followed that Las Vegas attack. Of course they took most of the racial issue out of their episode, by making the perps of varying races as well as the vics. One of the CSIs was nearly beat to death and one sees that he is still affected by it as he continues to work.

Las Vegas has its share of gang behavior too. I've heard it's also not the safest place to live.

"The judge stopped short of saying they violated an order," one officer said. "But he made it clear that it would not happen again."

The judge should have slapped these lawyers with finding of contempt for perpetrating a fraud on the court and defying a court order -- then jailed them.

Since he didn't, it's clear that this trial will be yet another media circus.

Well, I suppose from a defendant's point of view, if you're going to engage in a racist attack on white people, California is a good place to do it.

Yes, and there lies another huge difference. If a white person had intervened to rescue young black women being beaten by whites (highly unlikely in the first place), that white person would have nothing to fear from the rest of the white community. Everyone would be congratulating him/her for doing the right thing, the honorable thing. Instead, because the good samaritans are black, they have to hide in fear from street savages of their own race.

Yes, I was the one who mentioned this before. Las Vegas is growing so fast and with it comes the inevitble crime.. somehow I think a lot of these black gang attacks may have a lot more to do with the rap influence than anything else.
