Rep. Jane Harman, the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee, told a gathering of the American Bar Association on Friday that the Bush administration's secret wiretapping program for suspected terrorists is illegal.

Harman, D-Venice (Los Angeles County), who has become increasingly critical of President Bush's policies in recent months after her initial support for the Iraq war and her defense of the Patriot Act, also blasted the administration for refusing to provide legal opinions and authorizations for its wiretap program, interrogations policy and detentions of accused terrorists.

"The administration has too often operated under vague legal guidelines, pursuant to secret legal opinions generated by few and vetted by almost none," she said Friday.

I guess all Dems are now running left to please Pelosi.

What are they going to do, if it turns out we'll have a terrorist attack which could have been prevented by wiretapping the terrorists?

WIRETAP

I wish these Democrats were half as concerned about the survival of America as they are about the rights of terrorists out to destroy the US, Israel, and the civilized world. I wish these Democrats hated our enemies half as much as they hate our twice-elected President.

They had better pray that no such thing occurs. If it does even the "media" will have a hard time hiding it for the public.

The Democrats are more of an enemy to America than the terrorist.

They'll still blame it on Bush, the MSM will run with it, and the public will accept their verdict because nobody on our side will argue otherwise.

In other words, business as usual.

One it won't work, Pelosi already has her enemies list. Two good for them, it should backfire.

It looks like now that the Dems will have the majority, Harman is showing her true colors. Too bad, I thought she was one Dem who put America first.

Oh man - this is going to get real ugly real fast.
I just hope we can survive the next couple of years.
Maybe we should hedge our bets and stock up on ammo. (I mean even more ammo).

this is an issue that the white house ought to be able to hit out of the park, when will they drop the new tone and take the gloves off?

I could have sworn that Jane was in favor of this program...since she was one of the ones that knew from DAY ONE about this program...and I thought she even said she didn't see any problems with it....

I am sure all of what she has said in the past will come out...right??

Heck no...the MSM won't care.

Last summer, a lawyer I know who is a Democrat told me he thought Bush was using the NSA surveillance program to eavesdrop on political opponents. That's how paranoid and delusional these people are.

she was. because with her background, she knows that this program isn't much different then what the NSA has always done regarding foreign intercepts. the only difference now - politics.

This is too good to be true.
I pray all those "conservative Democrats" turn in unison with
the rest of that school of fish called The Democratic Party.

The sooner all of them are exposed as total Socialists and terrorist-allies,
the better.

Did you see the thread about the book that is coming out telling how the MEDIA has been responsible for messing with Pres. Bush's message about the war on terror>??

The White House has all kinds of reasons to take the gloves off...I just guess they feel they need to concentrate on the war...with the terrorists, rather than the MSM and the dems.

However...once January comes...the dems aren't going to LET them concentrate on the war...they will be too busy defending themselves in hearing after hearing.
