Obama touts condoms to evangelicals [Thank You Rick Warren]
UPI ^ | 1 Dec 2006

Posted on 12/03/2006 9:21:24 AM PST by Gamecock

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 1 (UPI) -- U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., told California evangelicals Friday he strongly disagrees with anyone who opposes the use of condoms to fight AIDS.

But he also told the 2,000 evangelicals gathered in Orange County that the solution to the AIDS epidemic must come in part from churches guiding people to make moral decisions, the Los Angeles Times reported.

He was less sanguine about absolute chastity.

"We can't ignore the fact that abstinence and fidelity, although the ideal, may not always be the reality," he said, "that we're dealing with flesh and blood men and women and not abstractions -- and that if condoms and potentially things like microbicides can prevent millions of deaths, then they should be made more widely available."

Some evangelicals criticized the church for inviting Obama, saying his support for abortion rights disqualified him from speaking in the church.

Obama told his audience "there is a moral and spiritual component to prevention" that's absent in many places, including the United States, and that "the relationship between men and women, between sexuality and spirituality, has broken down, and needs to be repaired."

Obama is believed to be positioning himself for a presidential run in 2008.

Ah, a condome will take care of things ... go screw around and be happy.

This guy is BAD NEWS. He's a liar and there is something about him that creeps me out.

Shame on Rick Warren. I thought his book had done a lot of good (our church was giving out copies last year), but now I wouldn't trust anything he writes.

""We can't ignore the fact that abstinence and fidelity, although the ideal, may not always be the reality,"

The flaw here is that it calls on the Church to adjust the ideal to match the reality. In fact, our ideals must always rise and remain above our realities. Otherwise we have no blueprint for excellence.

Had "ideals" in our Constitution been adjusted to match the "realities" of the day, slavery would be enshrined in an amendment and the long march to freedom and equality for all, guaranteed in the Constitution, would never have risen above a crawl.

No one ever heard of him until he promoted his book among primarily Christian groups, evangelical especially. He got where he is by courting these groups, then sells out to the left. In other words, he has no real convictions of his own, just "what sells." Right now, I think he believes promiscuity without responsibility is what sells. I expect a book release soon...

I don't know, but I would guess he is a natural born United States citizen since he is eligible to be President or Vice President.

His father is of African descent and his mother is of European descent. I am pretty sure the mother is a natural born U.S. citizen, but not so certain about the father.

-- and that if condoms and potentially things like microbicides can prevent millions of deaths, then they should be made more widely available."

First of all, AIDS in the USA is primarily a homosexual/drug use behavior problem, both are intertwined in some form or another.

Condoms and microbicides are not going to prevent millions of deaths.

Homosexuals have a terrible track record of condom use. They have a behavior problem not a condom problem.

Obama knows, or at least should know, the condom use outside of the USA in places like Africa are fighting cultural, tribal, spiritual and primitive constraints that are not going to be solved by preaching the use of microbicide's or condoms from a church.

Obama presence there was strictly a promotional event for his presidential aspirations.

Rick Warren was used as a tool.

Shame on Rick Warren.

There's something about mega-pastors that almost screams megalomania. It's almost as if they are saying, in these outrageous decisions, "don't you know it's all about ME?? It's so much ABOUT ME that I can invite a radical pro-abort, pro-homosexual into this sanctary and YOU WILL like it, because I SAID SO."

Malaria probably killed about as many people in Africa as AIDS.

DDT was a very cost-effective way of stopping malaria. But the fear of human overpopulation brought forth "Silent Spring" and the explosive population growth of the malarial mosquito, resulting in many millions of human deaths by malaria.

Now, with AIDS as a leading cause of death in Africa (right up there with malaria), one cause of deaths is not being addressed (even with a simple solution at hand), while another cause of deaths must, absolutely MUST, be curbed, stopped in its tracks. There is a very simple solution here too, though not an easy one - abstinence as a life style.

So an alternative is offered, demonstrated by unrolling a condom on a broomstick. The lesson is obvious. When you desire to have sexual contact, find the broomstick, place the condom on it, and proceed to have sex just like always - after all, the condom was used, therefore disease was prevented, everybody happy.

Both his father and step-father are Muslims. Apparently, Barack Hussein Obama converted to Christianity during his college years. I think the paternal side of his family warrants more investigation. To me, he looks as if he is always dressed like one of Louis Farrakhan´s Nation of Islam guys with the skinny ties.

I think the American people have a right to know if Barak Hussein Obama is a Muslim.

The apostate Rick Warren has some explaining to do regarding his recent journey to Syria where he happily allowed himself to be used as a propaganda tool for President Asshat and his terrorist buddies.

I seldom agree with Joe Farah over at World Nut Daily about much, but he is bang on with his condemnation of Warren and his cozying up to that which is clearly evil.

Jesus warned His followers that the world would hate them, as it hated (and hates) Him. The world seems to suddenly love the crap out of Rick Warren, what does this tell us?

Let the purpose driven flames begin.

Nationality-
Affiliation with a particular nation or sovereign state.
People generally acquire a nationality by birth within a particular country's territory, by inheritance from one or both parents, or by naturalization.

His father is a citizen of Kenyan so I guess he may maintain some level of dual citizenship with that country (would depend on the laws in Kenya I guess). He was born in Hawaii though which makes his nationality USA irrespective of any other considerations (parent's origins etc) unless he declares his desire to no longer be a U.S. citizen.

His father was a Muslim who became an atheist. His mother grew up with non-practicing Protestant parents. Senator Obama is a professing Christian who made a reaffirmation of faith as an adult.

I personally disagree with much of his political philosphy, but his ethnic heritage, his religion, his parent's religion, or his name should have no bearing in the marketplace of ideas.

Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr. of Nyangoma-Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham of Wichita, Kansas. It can be, and in at least one case I know of, IS a problem within that group--but condoms wouldn't have helped him. Hemophaelia requires using blood products, and for many years, they didn't test them properly--and then there was the whole Clinton selling prisoners blood (untested) issue, and we think that's where this came from. Proving it is another thing.

Which doesn't say much.
