A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

Welcome to Warm Fuzzy Wednesday at the Finest. For those who start counting the days on Monday until the weekend, we're halfway there! So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

Late yesterday afternoon my husband had the pleasure of swearing in a new member of the USAF. He is quite a bit older than the average physician entering the service. After much red tape and proof that he is physically capable the guy got his wish. He will begin active duty in Jan 2007.

This guy is giving up his practice to do something for his country as well as fulfill his own desires.

I have a plan when there is ice on the patio..I keep an empty big clay saucer just outside the door to fill from a pitcher so I won't fall on the ice.

This whole neighborhood is loaded with berries and bird feeders so I don't worry about them going hungry. I do find myself fretting about the birds ..because I am leaving for an extended Christmas visit to my daughters.

She has lots of birds but their feeders are at the back and my room is at the front! I like my "view window" by my computer.

The clay saucer is a good idea!

Not to worry, your neighbors will take them in. : )

Like you, I love watching birds. And squirrels. And rabbits. I have a passle of wildlife around here.

I only have squirrels and birds now..I had raccoons, possums and armadillos earlier this summer. I would love to see the foxes they say are in the ravine..and there were no wild turkeys this year.

Weight Watchers!

LOL! Those nuts won't last long. They like corn on the cob too.

And suet. I put a lot of suet out for my woodpeckers, they used to steal it, but now I have squirrel proof feeders.

Wow! That's great!

I get raccoons, possums and once in awhile....deer. Five came by last year. I worry about them because I'm not in a wooded area, would hate to see one get hit by a car.

Oh, and I did have one fox about four years ago. He was at a distance so I couldn't see him too plainly.

I've been trying to scan a picture she drew of Sassy, but I seem to be having trouble with my scanner. :(

Bummer

That is so neat! Thank you so much for bringing that miraculous capturing of a really exceptional event here!

I have a customer on my mail route who owns a menagerie of animals - there are rabbits, a goat, cats and kittens, at least four dogs including a Rottweiler - all roaming around the very small front yard free and loving toward one another! It is a delight to arrive at their mailbox daily!

Hey, sweetie........while you are feeding the critters, don't forget to feed the bears! And, please do NOT give a bear suet. A little prime rib (with horseradish sauce) or some fried chicken would be nice. ;-)
