The panel suggests we 'get tough' with the Iraqi's and threaten to throw them to the wolves, while at the same time being very kind and submissive and kindly requesting surrender terms from Iran and Syria.

Nothing on the lamestream about the right of return or giving up the Golan heights in that report.
The whole idea that peace in Iraq is predicated on giving into Arab demands is beyond offensive.
No wonder they didn't report it.
So...is Baker still defending the Saudi's against 9/11 claims? The smirking chuckle is gives when he chides, oh so diplomatically, the interviewer about how things are Really done makes me want retch.

The NYP has a staff of bright young things who do nothing but write headlines. That is something Murdoch brought from tabloidland in Oz when he took over the paper. Remember the classic "Headless Body Found in Topless Bar"? That's them at work.

I used to dismiss the Post as a tabloid...now it's one of my favorite papers. It's sold in Pittsbugh by a few vendors -- when I see it, I usually pick up a copy.

I'd like to see most of these rags go the way of the do-do bird. But the Post -- I'd make an exception.
To: areafiftyone
I notice they didn't use Vernon Jordan (yes, *that* Vernon Jordan) for this.
If anyone wants the complete findings there's a PDF copy downloadable at Baker Institute
Republicans
In addition to Jim Baker, "Republicans" are:
* Sandra Day O'Connor, former Supreme Court Justice
* Lawrence Eagleburger, former Sec of State
* Edwin Meese III, former US Attorney General
* Alan K. Simpson, former Wyoming Senator
* Bob Gates, incoming Sec of Def, replaced in Nov by Eagleburger
* Rudy, replaced by Meese in May; was too busy
Democrats
In addition to Lee Hamilton, Democrats are:
* Vernon Jordan, Jr., business executive / Monica payoff crew
* Leon E. Panetta, former White House Chief of Staff
* William J. Perry, former US Secretary of Defense
* Charles S. Robb, former Governor of Virginia and former U.S. Senator
