I was a big fan of Ken Burn's "Baseball" series on pbs. Buck O'Neil appeared in it. He seemed to be a very decent man. Glad to see his name on the list.

Buck O'Neil ...historic player and the greatest ambassador of Negro leagues baseball recently died. He was a hero to many in the Kansas City area. His eloquence, grace and genuine love for people has captured the hearts and imaginations of kindred spirits world wide.
He tells why things are the way they are in a way that you have never considered before.
Totally great British historian and an Oxford dude.
Why Norman Mineta, WHY? I hope it's a good reason like others said: it was the price of the fool's resignation. It was a travesty he was in there as long as he was.
