I honestly don't see how the next Congress is anything other than a "do nothing" Congress: 1.) The Democratic Congressional majorities are not super-majorities. 2.) If the majority of "blue dog" Democrats really do side with Republicans on most to all of the issues that they end up voting upon, then the liberal Democrats won't get anything that they want passed. This will truly depend upon what these "blue dog" Democrats really decide to do when it's time to vote. 3.) It will now be the Republican minority's turn in the U.S. Senate to be able to filibuster anything that they want to filibuster. The Democratic minority in the U.S. Senate has often succeeded in killing off many things that the Republicans tried to pass in the U.S. Senate, and now the Republicans will have the ability of doing the same things to the Democrats! 4.) President Bush also has the ability and the power to veto any legislation that he doesn't accept, and I would be very surprised if President Bush doesn't start to veto legislation with the Democrats now in the Congressional majority. 5.) The "new media" keeps getting more and more clout as more people start to pay much more attention to the "new media". The "new media" is also getting better by expanding both its support and its capabilities. For example, "You Tube" and other video sharing sites make it harder for any politician to get away with saying or doing anything controversial without getting caught and then being shown to much of the general public. Every year, less people are subscribing to newspapers, and every year, less people are watching "mainstream media" television. All of these things combined make it much harder for the Democratic Congressional majority to be able to get what they want on any issue, and all of these things should work against the "political left" on most to all of the issues.
Precisely. Which is why hairless reid and nancy piglosi have made the point that they're going to be working longer hours when the 'craps take charge. So they can f#@k more of us to death. I hope the President has the intestinal fortitude to wield the veto pen.

Or their vote will depend on what the Democratic leaders have on the "blue dog" personal FBI files.
I'd like to see a short session and a long session each year, neither of them over 90 days.
The long session to be for legislation and budgets, the short one to repeal laws that are no longer necessary due to changes in society or the consolidation of 100's of laws on the same subject to one understandable law.
I know it wont happen first it would cut the neeed for as many lawyers and secondly it would defeat their goal,which is to make all of us criminals, after all free men are not controllable.
Nancy's first 100 days are going to be Blitskrieg of liberal ussues the likes of which this country has never seen before. Its going to be expensive boys.

Ok, even I who have been a stuanch supporter for Bush in times where I thought he should
not be spending, recognizes that he will not sign "everything"...Veto's will be forthcoming.

...I agree. They did not win a mandate. No matter what the press tells us. This will be 2 years of a "do nothing because we can't" congress. 2008 election will be more important than '06. The 109th is trying to leave a somewhat conservative taste in everyone's mouth for 2008.
I still think Rove set this up to get GW off the hook and let the RATS auto-eroticate themselves for two years in a do nothing congress and let the people see how bad they are and give it back to the GOP in 08, if they learn their lesson and get conservative real quick.

I agree. Maybe not in the manner you placed it and perhaps not with the same target, but I agree some republicans do need to get their heads on straight.

The Iraqui is so bad hardly anone takes it seriously except John kerry. It isnt surprising that he ignores it. However, he also ignores the threat posed by open southern borders and the threat of unlimited illegal immigration. Inspite of the vices of Amricans he seems determined to grant amnesty to 12 million illegals now living in this country.
I like President Bush ,I support him in the Iraqui war. However when it come to Conservatism and illegal immigrants his hard headedness is focused in the wrong direction.
