All Holiday trees at Sea-Tac Airport were removed this morning after several community member complaints. They say the trees don't represent all cultures and religions...The trees will not go up again...the airport policy on decorations will be reviewed after the holidays.
Yall need to move
Shrug. Are the Christmas trees still up?
Shucks just one more reason to not go to Seattle.
Death to the PC Nazis!
Most of the rest of the state has Christmas Trees in the middle of downtown and some are have them on the City Hall lawn.
Seattle is seriously messed up. Don't judge all of us by these idiots.
Maybe I should know but.....where is this?
Nothing but more cultural cleansing. Absurd.
Seattle-Tacoma International Airport
Washington State ping.
I have relatives who used to live out at Ft Lewis and in Seattle--that is, before Seattle became too big for its britches, and changed from being the Emerald City to the Emerald Green commune.
Censorship!!
Nothing represents all cultures and all religions. So what? How is that supposed to mean that something that does represent a particular culture and religion can't be displayed? The reason given for banning the Christmas trees is not logical, it's not reasonable, it's not just, and it's not sane.
"They say the trees don't represent all cultures and religions."
This is so incredibly moronic. Seriously, how could we possibly represent all cultures and religions even if we tried? Where are the Wiccan and Satanist Christmas decorations? Geesh, this multi-culti diversity stuff is a serious mental illness, and I have absolutely no idea why people put up with it. Someone needs to tell the whiners to respectfully shut up!
According to Webster:
diverse = composed of distinct or unlike elements or qualities.
For example, their exists in the world a diversity of mushrooms. Some are great to eat, some will alter your state, and some will kill you. So, diversity itself is nothing to celebrate or value. The worth or value of a thing or a person should be based on it's attributes.
Peace on earth good will toward men

Trees came from the pagans. They are nothing more than
fun. The PC @ssholes continue to legislate the removal of
any fun from our lives.
Only "approved" decorations please. See tagline for details.
Probably because they are the same nuts.
I saw. Thanks.

Bah Humbug! Seattle Airport!
More discrimination against us Reformed Druids.
Another reason I'm so glad I moved out of King County. However, there's still no guarantee this kind of nuttiness won't soon metastasize down to Pierce County.
Culture theives win again in Washinton state.
What bigots complained?
And, WHY do THEY get to win, all the time??? Heck, it offends ME that the CHRISTMAS trees do not go up. Can I win THIS time????
Art at Sea-Tac Airport
As you make your way through the airport, it may be hard to miss the magnificent artwork mounted, installed and encased throughout the rooms and corridors. It's all here for your enjoyment, so spend as long as you like soaking things up.
Our art collection features some of the finest contemporary work in glass, sculpture, photography, painting and sound. The region's diversity is well-represented through European, all-American, Asian, Northwest Native American and folk-art influences.

Merry Christmas
I just saw that the original Grinch is on tonight - ABC I think.
"They say the trees don't represent all cultures "
Damn straight - thats why they call it Christmas
The only art I've ever noticed at SeaTac are those annoying drinking fountains and that ongoing magician display.
Anything "public" is going to be substandard, anyway.
Merry Christmas to you.
Seattle has become SF North.
Christmas tree? Hannukah bush? Solstice shrub?
Hmmmm.....
Now just which group of power-freaks could feel excluded enough to complain about this arboreal display? Which one are the PC lords most likely to roll over for?

I'm continually offended by the creeping paganism that is taking over this country. Yet, I don't walk around forcing the rest of society to conform to my beliefs. Do I encourage others to become Christian? Certainly! Do I expect everyone else to be Christian? Most certainly not (but it wouldn't be a bad thing).
It's simply not possible to create a world where no one is ever offended. Civility and respect for different viewpoints are worthy traits to have, but it doesn't mean sacrificing everything the majority believes in order to cater to vocal minorities. Seriously, here's how this situation should have been handled: "Don't like Christmas trees? Thank you very much for your concern. We appreciate your feedback. Goodbye." Then, you leave the trees up. Every time someone surrenders to the multi-culti diversity crowd it only encourages them to complain more.
How does this go?
I DEMAND to be treated *exactly* like everyone else
until
I DEMAND to be treated differently becasue I am a (fill in the blank of the latest oppresed whatever)
We're not celebrating ALL RELIGIONS. We're celebrating the birth of Christ.
Why is it so offensive .. could it be because CHRIST is the truth the way and the life and the other religions are terrified of HIM ..??
Well I hope they didn't take down the Festivus Poles.
Last week I read that the State of Washington PAID to have a C H R I S T M A S Tree sent to Washington DC where it is now displayed as the national C H R I S T M A S Tree.
So the Port of Seattle somehow thinks the display of a C H R I S T M A S Tree is inappropriate. How about a Kwanzaa tree?

This is how the Anti-Christmas Gnatzies in 'The People's Republik of Madistan' handle the problem. This sign is in our State Capitol rotunda along with the Christmas Tree and a Menorah and a some frilly-dilly for Kwanza, etc. Madistan WANTS to be Seattle. Our 'Progressive' (which is "Newspeak" for 'Old Time Communist') Mayor is feverishly working on it!

I lived their briefly with my brother.
He used to call Seattle/Tacoma, Sodom and Gommora.
In the original, it's
"Et in terra pax hominibus bonae voluntatis"
That is, "Peace on Earth toward MEN OF GOOD WILL"
In other words, if they're not of good will, then call for fire.
Whenever you hear the word "community", it's virtually assured what is to follow is complete bullshit.
As far as I know, no Christian or pro-Christmas groups have ever sued because they are offended by the non-stop attacks on their traditions and culture. Wouldn't it be great to see such a lawsuit? I imagine every FReeper who is "offended" by these actions would love to be a plaintiff in such a suit.
That sign is a joke, right?
