I respect and agree with Dr. Dobson, but why can't anybody finish the sentence? I get so tired of folks pussyfooting around the camel in the tent. This is not a "bad idea" because "sociological data indicates...". Parents should be male and femal because that's how God made them. Homosexuality is wrong because God says so. Fornication and a host of other things are wrong, not because "studies indicate..." but because they are declared so by the Creator. We can't say it but it's true.
And now... let the excoriation begin!

But Torie knows better than to show up and comment. At least perhaps he could apologize.

I'm assuming you mean Torie as Dr. Dobson has never advocated a legal ban on divorce and men who knock up women may skate by in our courts, but not so in "His" Courts....

Dobson, and a team of freepers, are going to lead a special forces squad to capture the Mary Cheney baby.
I agree with Dobson, but I don't understand what he wants us to do about it. We can speak out against it, but I'm uncomfortable arguing the government should intervene. Mary Cheney is pregnant. She lives with another woman. Those are the facts. Does Dobson want Cheney's child taken away by the state? The couple forced to live apart? He doesn't say.
I think all we can do is speak the truth and hope people listen.

correct. and that is indeed the issue here. there is nothing than can (or should be) done about this. so let it go, let it go - because as a political issue, this hurt us with independents.
Once we have some data that gays make poor parents, we can talk. It isn't out there, and won't be, so I guess we won't talk.

What's the harm?,right? they are not your kids, you can't be the subject of the experiments, so we will just wait and see and if the kids are all screwed up later in life...weeeell, at least we'll know.

Children are meant to be raised by a mother and a father. That is not an assumption. That is fact. That is how humans (and some other animals) are biologically designed.

It's unacceptable if you are the child. And it is certainly unacceptable if it is avoidable, such as the Cheney case.

Don't even start talking to me about "gays" and adopting. Some friends of ours just lost their 3 foster children of 22 months to a birth grandfather whose own child (birth mom) was in foster care herself. It seems being Christians and homeschoolers was not a good scenario for the children, one of who was raised since infancy by the HETEROSEXUAL couple and their bio children. I guess if they were HOMOSEXUALS, they would be considered primo parents. Grrrrr.
once again, this is not a gay adoption issue. Mary Cheney is the ACTUAL MOTHER of this baby, its her baby.
and she will make a much better mother then - let's say - Andrea Yates, a heterosexual woman with a husband, wouldn't you agree?
This is exactly what is wrong with America., Yeah, thats right...I blame you and all who, like you, see it as evil or wrong or destructive to call a spade a spade. Children REQUIRE a mother and father. We already have enough failures just on this score to have to help the problem with a worsening of the nuclear family with watered down, fuzzy lined definitions of what family is.
I hope you see the error of this line of thinking as it has trashed many a life with confusion.
And before you huff at me as if I am insulting you remember this, it is not love alone that builds a family, it is not income or means or availability, it is ALL those things and more PLUS the indellible mark and unique qualities of a caring and involved FATHER and MOTHER.
