In that, I certainly agree.
(Hope it scares the same reactions OUT of a few other dozen "celebritney's" whose publicists need to find out that the real world is not inside Hollywood's and NYC's fashion parties.)
I don't think we should be too hard on the city employee either.
For all we know, she could be a christian herself, who simply thought that a jewish person might take offense at the christmas carols, and asked them to stop.
I'm not "defending" her, saying she was right, but her heart might have been in the right place. It didn't sound like she was rude or anything.
I could be wrong, but I just don't think we know enough to be too critical of her. While we have every right to do things that would offend other people, we can choose NOT to offend people in certain circumstances.
I've been doing perfectly legal things, but stopped when someone asked me to because it was "bothering" them. In our personal lives, I think it's fine to try to "get along" and be considerate of others.
In this case, I'm sure the skater was not offended, and that the city employee should not have stopped the singers.
Tolerance now is defined as excluding the majority from celebrating their holiday. This insanity has to stop.
It's time this mayor was driven from office and politicians in general learned this nonsense isn't acceptable to the majority who can vote your sorry ass out of office.
bump
Did you hear the one about the Jewish owners of a clothing store who, after closing on Christmas Eve, gather around the Christmas tree and sing "What A Friend We Have In Jesus"?
Gee, Sasha, this is a PR genius move.
Gee, Sasha, this is a PR genius move.
Ouch! LoL
I'm not so sure that's really ice in that picture, or just a shiny floor that was meant to look like ice.
She is just as cute as can be!
Borat skates?
Wow!
Just.....
.....Wow!
8^)
He's obviously a racist. /s
Something about that picture really touches me - you end up seated next to the President and you hand him your cell so he can talk to your Mom. That's just...cool...
Jews are not offended by Christmas and all of its trappings. After all, the holiday is based on the birth of a Jewish child. I toured Israel for the first time in May 2006 and what strikes a newcomer is the respect given, by the Israelis, to all different faiths and their holy sites. The only religious site off limit to us was the Dome on the Rock.
When I asked a young lady watching that tourists remove their shoes before entering the Shrine of the Bab in Haifa why the Bahais established such a compound in the State of Israel? She responded that this State was one of the few places where the Bahai are safe.
Who created all this political correctness on our continent? In the world for that matter since one cannot forget the image of the Pope removing his shoes before entering the Mosque in Turkey.
I doubt that Sasha Cohen had any knowledge of this turn in events. Reality is that this took place in California! Enough said.
yes I do, I've watched her skate 7 times on tv and each time she complained about something requiring others "to fix it"..........that sir is spoiled and I'm out on that
Hate to ask the obvious, but is Sasha really a practicing Jew or did everyone just *assume* that because of her name? It happens, sometimes.
