"abusive pings."
Now you are abused?

I did not realize that you were a professional victim.

Please accept my apologies for any posts that you may have considered abusive, people sometimes consider the truth as abuse when they are not used to hearing it.

Next time you think about posting you might try staying on topic and resisting the urge to call people names.

Of course they are, the State Department has always, or most always, been full of Arabists. I'll bet the DoD is supporting them too, under longstanding policies.

The Arabists are few and far between and have little influence compared to Congress and AIPAC when it comes to our foreign policy in the Middle East. The decision to support CODELs is not made in the State Department. It is part of the Department's mission. If there are any questions about a particular CODEL, the matter is referred to the WH and NSC. It is a political issue.

IMHO,it's time for those long standing policies to end. State and DoD work for the President, in furtherance of the foreign policy of the United States. If any Congressman or reporter wishes to negotiate with the terrorist supporting dictators of greater Arabia, or Persia, they can travel on their own nickle, and make their own arrangements. We have better ways to spend the DoD's dollars.

LOL. As long as Congress provides the funding and makes the laws, the Embassies will continue to provide support to CODELS and so will DOD. That is a fact of life. No President will ever try to deny Congress this support. Reporters travel on their own nickel and we seldom provide any real support to the MSM except if they are accompanying government officials.

Similarly, they should be prosecuted when they return from these fact finding illegal negotiations.

Not going to happen. That's the political reality.

What can the POTUS do? What options does he have? I'm asking, not being a smart alec.

This is out of control, and we the people ought to do whatever we can to rein in our elected representatives.
