Be fair to Pat, after all he lost an ancestor in a German Concentration Camp. He fell out of the guard tower.

Just for the record, Buchanan is not supporting Ahmahjanid (sp?) in this piece. Time's Man of the Year has gone to Stalin and Hitler in the past. Brutal dictators who killed millions have won this "award". It is not a commendation for good behavior, it goes to the person who impacted the world the most for that year. He calls Ajmahjanid the face of anti-Americanism and anti-Zionism. So I'm sure there are other reasons to critique Buchanan but this doesn't seem like one of them.

I think they thought too many people thought it would be an honor to name bin Laden that year.

They're probably right about that. Kind of a no-win situation for TIme. Best thing they could do would probably be to just drop the concept. Everybody knows that "You" was a pretty gay choice.

This guy gets worse with each passing day. What an embarrassment.

Uhh...how so? His point was that Time copped out. That the official definition of their "Man of the Year" is the person who dominated the news regardless of whether they are good or evil. He then tried to make the point that Ahmadinejad had dominated the news, but that Time did not want to give him the title. Why? Because, almost no one in America would place Ahmadinejad in any category other than evil--something liberals really don't like to advertise.

Even if you don't agree, is that really such a nutty idea? This anti-Buchanan knee-jerk response that seems prevalent among Freepers is ridiculous.

From the article:

He inspires all who hate Israel and Bush's America.

Like I'm sure that he likes Bush's America less than say...America.

Man, Pat sure hates GWB about as much as Ahmanutjob does.
