President Bush will hold a press conference this morning at 10 a.m. Eastern time. He will be making a statement on Iraq.

Would that not come from the Pentagon?
Not saying it's impossible he could mention it but surely it's broader in content than Abizaid even if he did.

I was surprised to read this morning that the president said we weren't winning in Iraq. Maybe it's just time to take Iran to the woodshed because somewhere I read that 80% of the attacks in Iraq are carried out and/or funded by Iranians.

Expected to be talking about his "increase of the military" but we'll see.
I listened to an audio speech RFK gave on Vietnam wherein he said the South Koreans needed to be taking on more of the burden rather than the Americans and having failed to create democratic structures. I thought it was interesting in light of some of the concerns in Iraq which has had free elections.

No. He quoted someone else who said we are not winning and we are not loosing...but the Wah Post distorted it. Go figure.

I heard an interview played this am from the Washington Post where the President said " We aren't winning, we aren't losing" Hey Yahoo, that's a loooooong way from "we're losing"!
