WASHINGTON - Sen. Hillary Clinton told a TV audience of 3 million women Wednesday that the nation has "never had a mother" be president.
Appearing on "The View" to push the 10th anniversary reissue of her book "It Takes a Village," Clinton chatted about family Christmas and raising kids these days. <> The former first lady noted, "We've never had a mother who ever ran for or held that position."
Clinton also acknowledged that the concept of electing a woman president is "such a leap of faith."
The senator, considered the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, raised the issue after admitting this week she didn't know if the country was ready for a female president, but added, "We need to try."
Clinton spent most of her time on "The View" talking about the difficulties of parenting - topics that play well with the show's 3 million strong audience of women 18 to 49.

I guess the black woman who ran for President didn't really count to the Democrats:
"In fact, former Congresswoman Carol Moseley Braun, who ran unsuccessfully for the Democratic nomination two years ago, has a son, Matthew, who is a computer engineer."

We don't need a mommy to run this country, we need a man; like Ronald Reagan, not her husband. We need a man - that's for sure (and I'm a female and I don't mind saying that) but we will not have someone like Ronald Reagan. So far NONE of the potentials are Ronald Reagan types. We will have to settle for what we can get this time. Maybe in 2012 but not in 2008.

Sen. Hillary Clinton told a TV audience of 3 million women Wednesday that the nation has "never had a mother" be president. Senator Clinton is setting herself apart from Sec. of State Condoleeza Rice. This is just the first mud-ball of the whispering campaign that will ensue if Condoleeza Rice evidences even the slightest desire to run for President.
Frankly, I think Rice is the only one the Clinton Camp fears.

Clinton also acknowledged that the concept of electing a woman president is "such a leap of faith." You could pour a bottle of Cuervo down my throat and I'd never be willing to chance such a leap, as far as Hillary is concerned. A jump off a cliff wearing home-made wings is a leap of faith, too...

The Hilary-Media alliance dropping all the neccessary soundbites to target our sympathies for 08.
Rush made a decent point yesterday - first time I listened to his show in years for a few min. He said (paraphrase) that she's continuing to play up the "victimhood of the mother", especially single mothers.

"Never had a mother." Hillary, please spare us the thinly-veiled accusation of discrimination and assinuations of victimhood.
When a "mother" comes along who is worthy, then maybe the U.S. will finally have it's first woman president.

He would never be able to distroy Hillary - I hate to say this but she'll have him for dinner and spit him out. Don't underestimate Hillary. We need a powerful person to beat her. A Represenative from Congress will never be able to beat Senator Clinton. Just because he says what we want to hear is not enough to beat the BEAST!

Senator Margaret Chase Smith of Maine ran for President in 1964. I know that for sure because I was present in the Cow Palace in San Francisco that year when her name was placed in nomination. (Goldwater was, of course, the ultimate nominee.)
As usual, Hillary! is guilty either of incompetent staff work, or lying through her teeth. If she really is one of "America's smartest lawyers," then she should know about Senator Smith's candidacy. So, I'd go with lying through her teeth.
