Madison - The executive director of the state Republican Party filed a notarized complaint today that members of the state Elections Board broke the open meetings law, seven weeks after Waukesha County District Attorney Paul Bucher said he had evidence showing a violation.
Rick Wiley, who heads the party, submitted a complaint that says members of the board agreed to vote to punish the campaign of Republican gubernatorial candidate Mark Green before an Aug. 30 meeting. Because those members constituted a majority of those voting, their agreement was illegal, Bucher has said.

The Democrats have been winning elections in Wisconsin by dirty tricks for a very long time....at every level. The Doyle tactics against Mark Green were so brazen and disgusting and the press so complicit that I shudder to think what they might be emboldened to do in the future.
I hope that something comes of this. Not only did this distract the momentum of the Green campaign off kilter, their shilly-shallying probably caused Walker (the stronger candidate, IMHO, to drop out.
The major reason that Walker removed himself from the race is that Green had a larger war chest because he thought he could use his Federal money. (Green asked for an opinion and was told that it was legal.) As a consequence, leading Republican powers threw their support and money to Green.
When use of the Fedral campaign funds was suddenly denied by the elections board, it disrupted the Green campaign and he ultimately lost the election. Now we find that the election board came to their conclusion illegally.
The whole thing stinks.
In this case...other than dragging the board into a room with a judge and have him openly/publicly criticize them...before firing them...there is nothing else that can be done. But being terminated from this kind of position might send the signal for future board members.
We have the same thing going on here in Washington State. The dems don't even try to hide it. It can be in your face, flat-out violations and nothing is done about it. The governor's election had so many state and federal election laws broken. Nevertheless, nothing was done. I can't tell you how many letters I wrote to the U.S. Attorney General for the Western states.
Several of 'em are lawyers and should they should be disciplined by the Bar. This was an obvious conspiracy to vote collectively against Green, despite the existence of recent precedent which allowed the current mayor of Milwaukee to do the same thing Green sought to do.
It's the most brazen act among many others that mark Doyle's tenure as Governor. Retribution is not a luxury, but a necessity.
I am not really looking for retribution. I would rather have an honest and fair government.
Instead we have power hunger controlling people like Doyle in office.
What we have learned is that Doyle and the Democrats make the rules. They will continue to make the rules to favor themselves staying in power.
