Wonderful!! Wonderful??? The perp's still alive, ain't he? We need to get the homeowner a good lawyer and a larger caliber weapon or perhaps marksmanship lessons! Never leave an intruder alive to testify against you!

Was he wearing a red suit and hat?

That's my old beat in the Grove. Handled more than one call around there where homeowners were holding a burglar or car thief at the point of a shotgun for us.

Gideon Reader fully agrees with Night Reader.
Larger caliber?
Better breath control?
Better trigger control?
Fire two sets of double taps.
Repeat as needed.
Merry Christmas to you. Few remaining days to the recipient of the rounds.

I totally agree, but perhaps it was at least in a very painful location. There's always still the hope for a Staph infection as well. :-)
Should have been a .40 caliber handgun or above. Then again I prefer a shotgun with 000 Magnum copper plated buckshot for home defense. That your only problem is cleaning up the mess.
Merry Christmas!!
