UK newspaper: Jesus was a Palestinian

Anti-Israel article claims Christmas is celebration 'of birth pains of a Palestinian refugee in Bethlehem'

Yaakov Lappin Published: 12.25.06, 21:23

An anti-Israel article , which appeared last week in a British newspaper, the Independent, claimed Christmas was a celebration of the "birth pains of a Palestinian refugee in Bethlehem" (Mary), before launching into an attack on Israel 's checkpoints in the West Bank.

New Year Message

Ahmadinejad: What would Jesus do today? / Yaakov Lappin

Iranian president in New Year's message to Christians: 'God willing, Jesus will return with Imam Mahdi and wipe away oppression' Full story

According to the article, written by British columnist Johann Hari, during Christmas "a third of humanity will gather to celebrate the birth pains of a Palestinian refugee in Bethlehem - but two millennia later, another mother in another glorified stable in this rubble-strewn, locked-down town is trying not to howl."

It added: "Fadia Jemal is a gap-toothed 27-year-old with a weary, watery smile. 'What would happen if the Virgin Mary came to Bethlehem today? She would endure what I have endured,' she says."

'21st century Marys being terrorized'

The article alleges that Jemal lost her baby due to a "road… blocked by Israeli soldiers, who said nobody was allowed to pass until morning."

Quoting Jemal, the article added: "When I see the (Israeli) soldiers I keep thinking - what did my baby do to Israel?"

Hari described Palestinian women as "21st century Marys" who were being "terrorized."

Various commentators have said that elements in Europe hostile to Israel have begun to portray Jesus as a Palestinian, and ancient Judea as a Palestinian entity.

The late Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat often denied that Jerusalem was the site of the Jewish temple, and described Jesus as a Palestinian.

What utter nonsense. If Mary and Joseph tried to get to Bethlehem , the Arabs would try to kill them as Jewish settlers!

Palestinians will eat this up, if you can convince them that Jews use the blood of Palestinian children to make their bread, this will go unchallenged.

The elementary school teachers lecturing on how wonderful it would be to grow up to be a suicide bomber is quite touching as well. Not to mention the gatherings in celebration at the shahid's (martyr) home after they blow themselves up with parents, friends and families having a party. Streets named after suicide bombers, billboards celebrating suicide bombers.

Yes Hillary and Jimmy Carter, these are a cultured, oppressed people who deserve their own state.

That this is even up for discussion is a denegration of our society, our intelligence and our collective grip on reality. We have slipped very far in the past 50-60 years.

Yes....but what nationality was he? Palestinian isn't a religion. Judaism is.

"Ahmadinejad: What would Jesus do today?"

I know what Jesus would NOT do. He would not:

1.) Crash airplanes into office buildings.

2.) Strap a bomb to his belt and blow up a church or shopping center.

3.) Commit an "honor killing" over the possibility of not collecting a douhry.

4.) Kidnap people and murder them on videotape.

5.) Use innocent children as decoys for attacking military personnel.

6.) Take advantage of an impoverished man by bribing himself to commit a suicide bombing so that his family can have a home and daily meals.

7.) Teach children that the greatest thing one can do for God is to die while attempting to murder others.

8.) Drive honest citizens from their homes by making false claims of sovereignty over land that when it is a historical fact that there never has been an independent Islamic nation of Palestine.

Muslims who try to claim Jesus as one of their own really have a lot of Chutzpah.

He was Judean. What do you think he was? There was no "Palestine" in his time, only Judea. Don't believe me? Take it up with the Romans.

Palestine was the Roman designation for the coastal area which is now Israel and Lebanon; like describing the area of New England.

Yeah, Jesus was a Moslem too. You can believe that if you're a Philistine who knows nothing about religion or history, which in today's world is not surprising at all in the news media.
