If the war on terror comes to America and the Muse-slimes conker this nation I hope Helen will be one of the first to wear a burk-er to hide that ugggly face of hers.
>>...the president... has hosted a series of yuletide parties and has displayed none of the signs of soul-searching about war that marked Lyndon B. Johnson's agony over Vietnam.<<
Yes, and for good reason.
"Spin-it-Helen advocates Nuking Baghdad!!!!"
Fair enough, but Iraq is one country. How many countries did we liberate in WWII before ever using the bomb on Japan? Personally, I am quite displease with the level of violence after this much time. But that is for another thread.
The Iraq War ended when that Rat was pulled from his spider hole. He's due to be hung within the month but the "Insurgents" continue to kill men. women and children most who are non-combatants!!!!!
This Jihad is over 1350 years in progress and I would offer an opinion that the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire in 1453 was NOT Bush's fault!
Carpet bombing would pacify Baghdad, and the rest of Crapistan, too.
This would also bring stability to the region, which the State Department worships
The question is, how long would you be willing to fight to keep this ideology from spreading?
Pathan Warrior's (Islamofascist's)Farewell:
Now, when our house its mourning wears,
Do not thyself give way to tears:
Instruct our eldest son that I
Was ever anxious thus to die.
For when Death comes the brave are free
So in thy dreams remember me.
"The question is, how long would you be willing to fight to keep this ideology from spreading?"
I think you answered your own question. Any fight to keep an existing ideology from spreading is never-ending. That means actual fighting over this issue forever. No doubt you've seen the Iranian, Saudi, Palesinian, etc. TV spots. Hatred and murder has been ingrained in their children for generations and generations.
Crush the ideology and be done with it. An ideology that condones the murder of innocent non-believers is not fit for this earth, IMO.
Of course that means lots of men women and children would either be killed or forcibly "re-educated" and neither of those is an attractive idea. I do think that, at some point, one of the seemingly cruel "crazy" ideas will ultimately be what saves us, though.
The explanation for why the war would or should continue for so long is not up to President Bush, it is up to the shadowy warriors of the Islamic Jihad.
Peace would prevail TOMORROW in Iraq if the militants among the Sunnis and the Shi'ites would lay down their arms and disband their militias. Similarly, if the Taliban would surrender up Osama bin Ladin and cease their campaign to unseat the (legally elected) central government in Afghanistan, peace would finally come to that tormented land as well.
In fact, if the Islamic jihadists would simply stop trying to subjugate their neighbors, virtually all warfare on this planet would come to a near halt right now. They are practically the only ones making waves now.
But human nature being what it is, some other bunch of totally insensitive, economically unsophisticated, and intellectually challenged power grubbers would be elevated to the status of "new disturbances of the peace".
Any idea where we can pickup one of those quicky ideology crushing gadgets? I'd like to send one to the State Department.
I was going to say that this commentary is irrelevant since Pres Bush is just about a lame a duck as there is, but then I noticed HT had added that to her resume already. She's actually an attractive woman.
Helen Thomas is from Arab-American decent.
Thomas grew up in Detroit, which along with neighboring Dearborn, is home to one of the largest Arab American communities in the United States.
"I'm more aware of being a woman discriminated against," she said. "I'm sure blacks have felt much more the color line. There certainly might have been (anti-Arab sentiment) but I didn't feel it once I got into Washington
"Any idea where we can pickup one of those quicky ideology crushing gadgets?"
Hey, I'm out in my shop every night working on it. :)
Seriously, though, I see your point. Crush an ideology? Oh, it can be done but it isn't "doable" by modern standards because we won't exact that kind of violence on "innocents". Our enemy does not see it that way, and is all too eager to crush our ideology through mass killings. Who wins in the end?
ACCESS board president Noel Saleh, left, and Ismael Ahmed, ACCESS Executive Director, present the Arab-American of the Year Award to Helen Thomas, the journalism legend, and Joseph R. Haiek, Publisher of the News Circle/ Arab-American Affairs magazine and the Arab-American Almanac series, since 1972.
The Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) earlier this year held its 33rd anniversary banquet in Detroit attended by 2,700 guests.
The event begun with "Drumbeats of Youth" performed by the Maples School Arabic Music Ensemble.
Emery King, Master of Ceremonies, introduced Jennifer Granholm, Governor of the State of Michigan, saying the Governor is a speaker who holds her audience "spellbound. In her welcoming remarks, Governor Granholm said:
"Thank you very much on behalf of the State of Michigan. I particularly want to extend greetings to Helen Thomas, who is going to be your keynote speaker this evening. And obviously she can see how important the Arab-American community is to the State of Michigan.
Helen wishes she had a man in the last 4 years.
How many times does he have to explain it to you, Helen?
Okay, one more time, and this time he'll use small words and hand-puppets so you'll "get it".
I find the most notable quote in this war so far came from OBL.
To paraphrase, he said; "We (Islamofascists) want to die more than you (freedom lovers) want to live."
My guess...he probably shouldn't go to Vegas on that.
